    Southampton 1-0 Middlesbrough

Finn Azaz has the posts rattling with an effort for Middlesbrough, after good work from Lukas Engel to pinch the ball from Southampton forward Che Adams.

One goal is never a comfortable lead.

    Sunderland celebrateImage source, Rex Features

    Sunderland get a second.

Adil Aouchiche darted into the box after a ball down the right picked him up.

He squirted a cross to the back post and there was Jobe Bellingham diving in to fire into the roof of the net from close range.

Daylight for the visitors. It's all going wrong for the Bluebirds.

  3. Postpublished at 15:28 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Cardiff 0-1 Sunderland

Dan Neil has a pop for Sunderland as they seek a second, but it's deflected over.

    Cardiff need waking up.

  4. Postpublished at 15:26 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Huddersfield 0-2 Coventry

Huddersfield owe Lee Nicholls for keeping the scoreline down at the moment.

Coventry, and Ellis Simms, thought they were in for a third, but the ex-MK Dons man Nicholls makes a save to foil them.

Trebles all-round if it weren't for him.

  5. goal

GOAL: Preston 1-0 Rotherhampublished at 15:25 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Duane Holmes (22 mins)

    Preston celebrateImage source, Rex Features

The hosts are ahead. Rotherham's gloom deepens. Duane Holmes nets the opening goal as he smashes in at the far post after Robbie Brady's teasing ball across the box from the left of the area.

Huddersfield are losing and so Rotherham remain alive in the Championship relegation fight, for now...

  6. CLOSE!published at 15:24 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Swansea

Shot on target for the visitors at Hillsborough but Przemyslaw Placheta's left-footed effort is too close to Owls keeper James Beadle.

  7. Postpublished at 15:24 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    QPR 0-0 Birmingham

    Paul Mortimer
Former Palace, Villa and Charlton midfielder on BBC Radio London

    Both teams are really progressive.

Both trying to pass out from the back, but it is really risky.

  8. goal

GOAL: Huddersfield 0-2 Coventrypublished at 15:22 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Ellis Simms (22 mins)

    Coventry scoreImage source, PA Media

Coventry hit struggling Huddersfield on the break and make it pay - with that man again involved.

Ellis Simms is the cool finisher, tucking home Milan van Ewijk's cutback, after Kasey Palmer set him away with a slick ball to the right.

Simms is on it right now, seeking a third hat-trick in his last six games. He's already got back-to-back doubles now after his FA Cup exploits.

  9. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:19 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    QPR 0-0 Birmingham

The pressure from the Hoops is mounting. Kenneth Paal whips in an inviting cross from the left and Lucas Andersen gets a touch at the far post but can only clip the top of the crossbar with his first-time effort.

  10. Postpublished at 15:17 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Cardiff 0-1 Sunderland

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at Cardiff City Stadium

Haven't we seen enough penalties at Cardiff City Stadium this week?

Apparently not. That spot-kick from Sunderland's Adil Aouchiche was at the same end of the ground where Wales' shootout with Poland took place on Tuesday.

  11. goal

GOAL: Huddersfield 0-1 Coventrypublished at 15:17 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Ellis Simms (16 mins)

What a ripper from Ellis Simms, a thunderous effort to keep up Coventry's excellent run of form.

The striker gets his 11th in nine games, and it was a scorcher.

He chased the ball into the left channel, held out on the edge of the box, but with little on.

Forget that, he shifted the ball onto his right foot and arrowed a delicious strike into the top corner. Masterblaster.

  12. Postpublished at 15:17 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Norwich 0-1 Plymouth

Norwich go looking for an immediate response though leading scorer Josh Sargent.

The American, however, has his effort from inside the box superbly blocked by Ashley Phillips.

  13. Postpublished at 15:14 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    QPR 0-0 Birmingham

    Ian Clarkson
Ex-Birmingham captain on BBC Radio WM

On two or three occassions the Blues have not cleared their lines.

I would like them to just clear their lines.

It is about making good decisions, not overplaying.

  14. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:13 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    QPR 0-0 Birmingham

What a save this is from John Ruddy, he has somehow denied QPR talisman Ilias Chair's header from close range with an instinctive reaction stop.

How crucial could that be come 17:00 GMT?

  15. goal

Jobe Bellingham is hauled down in the box, Cardiff were adamant it wasn't a spot kick but it was given for Sunderland.

French midfielder Adil Aouchiche stepped up and slammed the penalty home. Sunderland desperate for a break and they've got one.

  16. goal

GOAL: Southampton 1-0 Middlesbroughpublished at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Adam Armstrong (12 mins)

    Southampton scoreImage source, PA Media

Big goal for Southampton who lead Middlesbrough thanks to a goal from top scorer Adam Armstrong.

Jonny Howson for Boro made a pig's ear of his clearance, hooking it over his own shoulder in the box straight to Armstrong, and he took a touch before drilling a low shot beyond Seny Dieng and into the corner for number 19 of the season.

  17. Postpublished at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Swansea

No further chances of note yet, but worth a mention that today is Jay Fulton's 250th Swansea appearance. Increasingly rare in this day and age.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Huddersfield 0-0 Coventry

It's somehow goalless still, and mainly thanks to the work of Huddersfield goalkeeper Lee Nicholls, who saves terrifically from Haji Wright.

Cov's cup hero unable to breach the defence.

  19. goal

GOAL: Norwich 0-1 Plymouthpublished at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Morgan Whittaker (10 mins)

    Plymouth celebrateImage source, Rex Features

With Plymouth's first sniff of goal today, Morgan Whittaker puts the visitors ahead.

And it is very much against the run of play, as Norwich were pulling all the strings.

It is a wonderfully worked move, starting with Alfie Devine who shifts the ball to Matthew Sorinola. And it's his cross that finds Whittaker to head home.

  20. Postpublished at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    QPR 0-0 Birmingham

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

Both teams have given me the sense they want to go for the jugular today.

I don't think it will be a nervy game, neither really keep clean sheets.
