Back under way at Vicarage Road.

Can the Whites turn it around to go back to the top of the table or will Watford hang on for a first home win since NOVEMBER?

If Watford can hang on to the three points here, it'll all but guarantee their safety with a 12-point buffer to the drop zone.

I'm sure plenty of fans would take a mid-table finish considering where they were a few weeks ago.

Former Leeds and Sheff Wed defender on BBC Radio Leeds

When you go out on that football pitch, you have 11 one-to-one battles and Watford are winning more of those.

Neither Ethan Ampadu or Glen Kamara have really got a hold of the middle of the park for Leeds.

    That tells the story.

  5. 'Outstanding first half' from Watfordpublished at 20:53 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    HT: Watford 2-1 Leeds

    Derek Payne
Former Watford midfielder on BBC Three Counties Radio

The fans are all clapping, they think that they have seen an amazing performance.

Let me tell you that it is only one half of football.

This is where Tom Cleverley and his staff will earn their keep.

The players will need to be calmed down and continue with their professionalism. It has been outstanding.

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:49 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

The Hornets have the advantage against the promotion hopefuls at the break after a frenetic end to the half.

The home side had the better of the opening exchanges against an oddly off-colour Leeds and took a deserved lead when Vakoun Bayo slammed in a rebound.

That brought Leeds to life and Crysencio Summerville levelled with a super strike after coming in off the left.

Emmanuel Dennis then put the hosts back in the lead after doing similar from the right flank.

This scoreline will be music to the ears of leaders Ipswich and third-placed Leicester.

  7. 'Dennis should be central striker'published at 20:48 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Watford 2-1 Leeds

    Derek Payne
Former Watford midfielder on BBC Three Counties Radio

That is why you play Emmanuel Dennis down the middle.

The previous manager didn't want to do it but we have been saying it all along.

If you are Watford you do NOT concede now, you have to go in ahead at half-time.

  8. 'Rare for Leeds to let in two first-half goals'published at 20:48 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Watford 2-1 Leeds

    Adam Pope
    BBC Radio Leeds commentator

Leeds had an individual bit of skill to get them back into the game.

You can say the same about that goal for Emmanuel Dennis, because that was fantastic.

It is a rare thing for Leeds to concede two in the first half.

    Emmanuel Dennis (45 mins)

    Anything Crysencio Summerville can do!

Emmanuel Dennis with a brilliant goal and equally impressive celebration.

The Nigerian wins the initial ball up the pitch and then gets it back to feet down their right.

He comes inside, feints to shoot and then gets an extra yard before leathering a firm left-footed shot low into the net.

He cartwheels and somersaults away in celebration and you know what, why not?

    Watford 1-1 Leeds

The home side don't seem to have been too stung (sorry) by that Leeds equaliser.

They win another corner after a Yaser Asprilla shot deflects behind.

Mattie Pollock's header is easily held by Illan Meslier.

  11. Watford winning battle in midfieldpublished at 20:44 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Watford 1-1 Leeds

    Jon Newsome

Leeds are being outnumbered by Watford in midfield.

They are at sixes and sevens.

Ethan Ampadu and Glen Kamara look like headless chickens.

Tell you what, if you'd told me 10 minutes ago this game would be 1-1 now I'd have been pretty surprised.

    Really come to life this.

  13. 'Top drawer' goal from Summervillepublished at 20:40 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Watford 1-1 Leeds

    Derek Payne
Former Watford midfielder on BBC Three Counties Radio

It is an outstanding finish from Crysencio Summerville.

You know he wants to cut in and it is hard to stop it.

He bends the ball into the opposite corner. It is top drawer.

Even when Leeds aren't playing well, they have got individuals who can produce.

    Crysencio Summerville

    Stunner!

Oh, what a lovely goal this is.

Crysencio Summerville, who hadn't scored in seven before tonight, ends his wait for a goal in style.

The talented Dutchman drifts in off the left hand touchline and then bends in a wonderful shot from just inside the area.

    All-square, game on!

  15. 'Deserved goal for Hornets'published at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Watford 1-0 Leeds

    Adam Pope

    Watford deserve their lead.

Leeds need to significantly improve if they are to deserve to get anything from this game.

  16. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Watford 1-0 Leeds

That's just the fourth league goal Leeds have conceded in 2024 but they're looking ragged tonight.

Ethan Ampadu coughs up possession in a dangerous area and only a super covering challenge from Joe Rodon stops Emmanuel Dennis getting in on goal.

Brilliant tackle from the Tottenham loanee.

  17. Watford 'playing with handbrake off'published at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Watford 1-0 Leeds

    Derek Payne
Former Watford midfielder on BBC Three Counties Radio

Great goal from Watford. They spread it out to the left and get the ball to Emmanuel Dennis.

His strike partner Vakoun Bayo finishes really well.

We have called it "the release of the handbrake".

Tom Cleverley wants the players to express themselves and be on the front foot. They seem to be enjoying it.

  18. goal

GOAL: Watford 1-0 Leedspublished at 31 mins

    Vakoun Bayo

    Well, well, well!

The home side have had the better of it so far and they now have the goal to show for it.

They open Leeds up down the left and Emmanuel Dennis looks set to score from the cutback but Illan Meslier produces a super save to deny him.

No bother though, Vakoun Bayo is there to slam home the rebound from five yards out.

A goal that will have been greeted with cheers in Ipswich and Leicester.

  19. 'Less than inspiring' so farpublished at 20:31 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Watford 0-0 Leeds

    Jon Newsome
Former Leeds and Sheff Wed defender on BBC Radio Leeds

Leeds just haven't got into their pattern and their stride.

That is down to Watford trying to set traps for them and not giving them possession in good areas.

The press from Watford left wing-back Jamal Lewis is making it difficult for Leeds' Dan James.

    It is less than inspiring.

  20. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Watford 0-0 Leeds

There's no lack of endeavour in this game so far but, as often feels to be the case after an international break, the quality and fluidity isn't there at the moment.

Leeds have pushed Ethan Ampadu into midfield in the absence of Ilia Gruev. The Wales international has made a formidable defensive duo with compatriot Joe Rodon in the past few months.
