    Swansea 1-0 Cardiff

Cardiff win a corner and the Championship's set-piece kings threaten as Ryan Wintle's delivery reaches Nat Phillips at the far post, but the on-loan Liverpool man's header is gathered by Swansea keeper Carl Rushworth.

You couldn't do me a favour Owain, bring Joe Allen out of international retirement?

When you're looking for someone to hold in there, look at that brain ticking.

Since Joe Allen has got back into the team he doesn't tend to play 90 minutes.

When he's come off it does tend to have an effect, so it'll be interesting to see how they fare if he doesn't play the full 90.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 58 mins

    Swansea 1-0 Cardiff

This looks a blow for Swansea, with Kyle Naughton coming off because of what looks like a hamstring injury.

He is replaced by Josh Key.

    Swansea 1-0 Cardiff

Swansea have another opportunity from a set-piece as Harry Darling gets to Jamie Paterson's free-kick, but his diving header is smothered by Ethan Horvath.

Justice. If you're going to give that as a penalty for every time you see a pull in the box there'll be five at every corner.

Ronald goes to the floor, penalty falls for it, but penalty missed and justice.

Even after the disappointment of that penalty miss, Swansea are doing everything they can to keep the tempo high.

Cardiff keep being asked to work hard defensively.

He didn't need to go right in the corner, the keeper was long gone.

He's missed the target and it's a head in hands moment for Liam Cullen.

It's a soft one it must be said but Perry Ng was grabbing the shirt and Ronald as players tend to do goes down.

It's lazy defending by Ng to let Ronald get inside of him.

What a pivotal moment that could be.

Ronald wins the penalty, with Perry Ng adjudged to have pulled him down even though both players were grappling with each other.

But Swansea let Cardiff off the hook as Liam Cullen sends Ethan Horvath the wrong way - but his penalty rolls a foot wide.

Swansea's Jamie Paterson has the first shot of the second half from distance, but the ball flies well wide of the target.

Karlan Grant is now operating up front for Cardiff, with Callum O'Dowda taking his place on the left.

Rubin Colwill is a straight swap for David Turnbull in a central attacking midfield role.

I would say that was Swansea's best 45 minutes of the season. Intensity but with a sprinkle of quality.

It's up to Swansea to continue and put that 90 minute performance they haven't had this year, because Cardiff can't play any worse.

Aaron Ramsey was the only substitute who didn't warm-up at half-time so I think that says a lot about his fitness levels, I think fitness wise he might not be there yet.

There were two changes for Cardiff at half-time, with Rubin Colwill and Callum O'Dowda on for David Turnbull and Yakou Meite.

I'd bring Callum O'Dowda on the left and Rubin Colwill on the right with Karlan Grant then through the middle.

That would give Cardiff a chance. But saying that their pressing needs to be better, it's chalk and cheese compared to Swansea and in how they are in possession.

Swansea are back out for the second half with no changes, unsurprisingly.

We are still waiting for Cardiff.

If Swansea can hold on for three points they'll go eight points clear of the drop zone.

Still plenty of time for things to change this afternoon though with most of the bottom sides still to play.

Cardiff could be eight points outside the play-offs by the end of today if they don't pick up any points.
