Jamie Paterson asks for more from Swansea's fans as he prepares to take a free-kick.

He has done that half-a-dozen times already.

This is better from Cardiff, pushing Swansea back.

The first time Cardiff press Swansea they win a corner.

It's a case of allowing Swansea to have that ball but having your triggers to press and once Yakou Méïté goes then the midfield should go.

We are almost a third of the way through this contest and there has not been a moment to draw breath as yet.

Dimitrios Goutas meets David Turnbull's corner at the near post, but his flick rolls harmlessly wide.

    Swansea 0-0 Cardiff

Cardiff threaten for the first time as Yakou Meite blocks Harry Darling's attempted clearance.

Meite drives into the box but Darling gets back to clear for a corner.

Callum Robinson was sent off for Cardiff in this fixture last season for throwing the ball at Ben Cabango.

Bluebirds fans must have been fearing Yakou Meite would join Robinson in the pantheon of stupid south Wales derby red cards when he leant his head into Harry Darling's. Lucky boy.

Joe Allen's got that bit of bite in him. I said before the game I thought he was going to smash someone.

I'm not sure that yellow was deserved though, Perry Ng was just quicker.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 22 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Cardiff

We have another booking, this time for Joe Allen is he goes in late on Perry Ng near the halfway line.

Yakou Méïté is so silly there, there's a push from Harry Darling and Cardiff City have got away with it.

He's moved his head forward, that could be a red.

    Swansea 0-0 Cardiff

Yakou Meite is a very lucky man.

The Cardiff striker puts his head into Harry Darling's face after the Swansea defender had pushed him to the ground, and referee David Webb - who did not have a great view - shows both players a yellow card.

With VAR, Meite would surely have seen red.

  11. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 16 mins

Swansea come within a couple of inches of opening the scoring as Harry Darling heads Jamie Paterson's cross against the bar.

Swansea are wrongly awarded a corner, irritating Cardiff boss Erol Bulut, but the Bluebirds deal with the set-piece.

    Swansea 0-0 Cardiff

Cardiff get away with one as Ethan Horvath's poor clearance goes straight to Matt Grimes, who heads down to Jamie Paterson in a dangerous area - but he is a yard offside.

These set-pieces are going to be interesting, Swansea have thrown a few of them into the box.

I think Cardiff will enjoy that and with Nat Phillips and Dimitrios Goutas, they'll enjoy the physical battle.

But Swansea's attack of Liam Cullen and Jamie Paterson - they're clever players who play a bit differently.

As impressive as Swansea have been so far, Cardiff have been dreadfully off the pace.

This is in stark contrast to the flying start they made during last Saturday's win over Ipswich.

    Swansea 0-0 Cardiff

It's all Swansea in the opening stages.

After Joe Allen is fouled on the edge of the box, Jamie Paterson drives a free-kick into the wall and Liam Cullen lashes the rebound narrowly wide.

Now Swansea have a free-kick which leads to a half-chance as Joe Allen lays off for Liam Cullen, but he cannot get over his shot and the ball rises high into the away end.

'Four in a row' is the chant from the home fans, in reference to Swansea's derby doubles in each of the last two seasons.

They are not mentioning Cardiff's win last September, though.

    2-0 Cardiff City.
