    Rotherham remain stuck at the bottom of the table, but their win against Millwall means their relegation is not yet confirmed.

    Birmingham City picked picked up the biggest result in the battle to avoid the drop, beating Preston to move two points and two places clear of the drop zone.

    QPR also edged away from danger with their win at Swansea.

    Coventry see their play-off ambitions hit as they lose 2-1 to Cardiff, after Liam Kitching scored two own goals to give the Bluebirds the win.

    Ellis Simms had put the hosts in front early on, but the two Kitching goals saw the Sky Blues' three-game winning run end.

    The Millers claim a first win since Boxing Day thanks to a battling win over resurgent Millwall.

    Seb Revan gave them the lead before Ryan Longman quickly levelled.

    Charlie Wyke came on as a sub and popped up with his first for the Millers to give them all three points.

    What a way for John Eustace to finally taste victory as Blackburn boss - the 11th game of his spell, thanks to an utter battering of a disappointing Sunderland.

    Sam Szmodics showed his qualities with two more goals to make it 29 for the season, and there were further goals for Ryan Hedges, Tyrhys Dolan and Andrew Moran.

    Chris Rigg's goal was a rare moment to cheer for the Sunderland fans, whose boos at full-time were understandable.

    Their form will be a concern, even if the buffer is fairly substantial on those bottom three spots.

    Their win at Swansea means they move to within a point of the Swans with six games remaining.

    Middlesbrough boost their play-off hopes with a routine home win, Sheffield Wednesday remain stuck in the bottom three and are now without a win in four.

    Jay Stansfield scores the only goal of the game to earn Birmingham City a valuable victory in their fight to avoid the drop.

    They move two points clear of the relegation places.

    For the first time in their history Plymouth lose five successive home games without scoring.

    They had so many chances here but fell behind to Nahki Wells' close range finish and Alfie Devine saw red later on to further dent their hopes of taking anything from this game and of staying in the league.

    The Pilgrims are without a win in six now and are just one point above the relegation zone.
