    Ipswich 1-0 Southampton

    Jo Tessem
Ex-Southampton midfielder on BBC Radio Solent

It's in his near corner but it's right in the corner.

You'd say Bazunu should cover it. I think he's beaten by the pace and it's all the way in the top corner.

Ipswich very direct, forward, one shot and they are off...

    Che Adams

    Instant reply!

Ipswich are practically still celebrating as Southampton come flying downfield and equalise.

Great ball in from the right by Adam Armstrong, Joe Aribo busting a gut to get there toes it toward goal and it breaks perfectly for Che Adams, who swivels to lash past Vaclav Hladky.

Cruel twist, Leif Davis played Adams on.

Ipswich go in front and it's a netbuster from Leif Davis.

Southampton gave the ball away in midfielder and Omari Hutchinson raids forward.

It's crossed in by Kayden Jackson, cleared by Jan Bednarek.

Sam Morsy recycles it, picks out Davis left of the box.

    One touch, Bang. Thumped in.

Chance for Ipswich there, as Kieffer Moore holds the ball up back to goal in the box, but the supporting Axel Tuanzebe can't get there in time before Southampton ease the ball away.

Home side showing a bit of impetus.

Massimo Luongo gallops down the left for Ipswich and holds the ball up before teeing up Leif Davis, but the Newcastle-born left-back can only scuff the shot across goal.

    Open game so far.

    Ipswich 0-0 Southampton

Southampton go route one with a ball pumped into the left channels that Ryan Fraser scoots onto and tees it up for Stuart Armstrong.

    Ipswich clear.

Saints come again, moving down the left and then slipping the ball into the middle where Flynn Downes drags a shot wide of the target.

  7. 'It's all or nothing for Saints'published at 17:39 British Summer Time 1 April

    Ipswich 0-0 Southampton

    Jo Tessem
Ex-Southampton midfielder on BBC Radio Solent

It's all or nothing for Southampton today, in a lot of ways.

I want to see Che Adams staying high today, leading the line and not dropping back.

  8. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Ipswich 0-0 Southampton

Kayden Jackson is played down the right by Conor Chaplin after he snares possession, but the cross is dealt with at the back by Southampton.

The visitors trying to dictate the pace, but Ipswich very quick to press.

  9. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Ipswich 0-0 Southampton

Taylor Harwood-Bellis booms away the throw and Southampton clear, but Ipswich pump it back again.

Gavin Bazunu takes control in the box, wearing 31. Both keepers wearing 31 and that's a silly bit of symmetry that I like.

  10. 'A little surprised Hutchinson is on the left'published at 17:36 British Summer Time 1 April

    Ipswich 0-0 Southampton

    Mick Mills
Former Ipswich and England captain on BBC Radio Suffolk

I'm a little surprised Kayden Jackson is on the right and not Omari Hutchinson, I know he prefers that side, but then I think they both prefer that side.

Omari did play on the left hand side against Southampton earlier in the season, however, and he scored the winner that night...

Gavin Bazunu has to react quickly to swipe a back-pass away.

Ipswich snatch back possession, but Kieffer Moore can't quite get his cross in and the ball goes out for a throw.

Leif Davis is winding up a throw. They're like howitzer shells.

Axel Tuanzebe comes across to take a throw-in for Ipswich and his sheer size is noticeable for the hosts.

    Absolute unit.

Southampton sweep downfield with confidence, but Ipswich press the minute they cross the half-way line.

    It's a good set-up for a close-fought game.

  13. KICK-OFFpublished at 1 min

    Ipswich 0-0 Southampton

Michael Salisbury is satisfied we're good to go eventually and the whistle is shrilled.

Ipswich fans roaring their way through a blue-tinged version of Hey Jude and a roar greets kick-off for Southampton.

Ex-Norwich defender Russell Martin not exactly Mr Popular in these parts, as the Saints boss takes his place in the away dugout area.

    Ipswich v Southampton (17:30 BST)

    Mick Mills
Former Ipswich and England captain on BBC Radio Suffolk

It's a super fixture and I love both clubs.

We saw Southampton on a very poor night in the middle of a very poor run when we played them in September, they were suicidal at the back.

I have a feeling we're going to see a very different Southampton tonight.

What a position Ipswich have put themselves in for these last seven games.

Mouthwatering game this, looking forward to it.

Southampton have lost fewer games on their travels than any other side in the Championship and won the joint third most games, so travelling to Portman Road holds no fear for boss Russell Martin.

Saints are yet to play both Leicester and Leeds on their travels this season, so this is the first time they've travelled to any of their rivals for automatic promotion this term.

"I think we go toe-to-toe with anyone, wherever we've been, which is why we've got such good away form," Martin told BBC Radio Solent.

"I don't see that changing. We'll have a look at them, and we'll adapt for us because the focus will be on us.

"If we do a lot of what we did today, but actually be a bit more ruthless in both boxes then we'll be ok."

The sprinklers are on fair whack at Portman Road.

Given how much rain my lawn has had, that's the last thing I'd be doing, albeit I don't I have a beautifully manicured, drainage prepared surface in the garden nor am I a trained groundskeeper.

Ipswich Town have already given their fans two belters against their promotion rivals on home turf this season, and boss Kieran McKenna is expecting the visit of Southampton to similarly get Portman Road rocking.

Sam Morsy earned the Tractor Boys a point against Leicester on Boxing Day in a bristling atmosphere, while Leeds just about ran out winners in a seven-goal thriller back in late August.

"I think we had great games with Leeds and Leicester at Portman Road this season, let's try to make it a third one with Southampton," McKenna told BBC Radio Suffolk.

"We didn't manage to beat either of the other two, but we had fantastic performances and atmospheres.

"That's all we can guarantee but hopefully it leads to a good result on Monday as well."
