  1. 'It could be 3-1 or 4-1'published at 18:15 British Summer Time 1 April

    Ipswich 1-2 Southampton

    Jo Tessem
Ex-Southampton midfielder on BBC Radio Solent

Ryan Fraser just got a bit too much on it and it curls away from the post. Good play by Joe Aribo - it could be three or four one. Brilliant play and so close.

  2. CLOSE!published at 43 mins

    Ipswich 1-2 Southampton

Ipswich are playing some sloppy stuff from the back, and Southampton almost capitalise.

Stuart Armstrong collects a wayward pass and rolls in Ryan Fraser, but his attempt to reverse his shot across goal on the angle rolls just wide of the target.

  3. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Ipswich 1-2 Southampton

Southampton swing a cross-fielder out to Ryan Fraser as they pounce on Leif Davis' loose header in midfield.

Axel Tuanzebe sorts out the mess though for Ipswich.

  4. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 38 mins

    Ipswich 1-2 Southampton

Kayden Jackson goes down in the box after a tussle with Jack Stephens, as he chases Ali Al-Hamadi's flick on for Ipswich.

Fans scream for the penalty, not a lot of appeal from the players though.

Gavin Bazunu then hoiks a clearance away with Al-Hamadi lurking.

  5. 'It's serious, for tonight and beyond...'published at 18:08 British Summer Time 1 April

    Ipswich 1-2 Southampton

    Mick Mills
Former Ipswich and England captain on BBC Radio Suffolk

It looks to be a back injury for Kieffer Moore. He tried to come back on but has had to come off.

It's serious for tonight as he's such a key player but it's serious beyond tonight with the Norwich game coming up and others after it. Ipswich have already got Wes Burns sidelined and won't want to be without this guy too.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 36 mins

    Ipswich 1-2 Southampton

Kieffer Moore is prone again, struggling with his back and perhaps his leg as well.

Ipswich are priming ex-Wimbledon forward Ali Al-Hamadi. He's a very different type of player. Moore is the physical threat, the 'outlet' if you like.

Change is made. Limps off with a disappointed look.

  7. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Ipswich 1-2 Southampton

Ipswich spread it as Omari Hutchinson bends a ball out to Kayden Jackson, but his cross to the back-post loops rather than fizzes and Leif Davis is muscled out of it.

Southampton get the ball back, and they are calm and composed in possession.

  8. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Ipswich 1-2 Southampton

Practically everyone is back defending here for Ipswich, as Southampton pile on pressure and possession.

Here's a break for Ipswich, Leif Davis in space on the left, pulls it across and Conor Chaplin scuffs at the shot which bounces harmlessly through to Gavin Bazunu.

Boos as Southampton play on, although eventually a flat out Kieffer Moore has play stopped.

Moore got clattered by Jan Bednarek. Then Sam Morsy scythes down Flynn Downes and Russell Martin - the Saints boss - angrily explodes in response.

  9. 'Southampton have Ipswich rattled'published at 18:02 British Summer Time 1 April

    Ipswich 1-2 Southampton

Ex-Southampton midfielder on BBC Radio Solent

Ipswich boss Kieran McKennaImage source, PA Media

Southampton have got Ipswich rattled, and because they have been playing good football.

When Southampton lose the ball they put pressure on straight away and are penning them in - they are having to rely on long balls.

  10. Postpublished at 27 mins

    Ipswich 1-2 Southampton

Axel Tuanzebe almost gives Southampton another chance in the box, as he failed to take a decent touch on a cross and almost let in Che Adams.

Adams had to go for it, as the ball was loose, and Ipswich goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky took one for the team as he gathered the ball with the boots flying.

Got away with it there, slightly ponderous from Tuanzebe.

  11. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Ipswich 1-2 Southampton

Leif Davis had gone upfield to support Omari Hutchinson and provide width, but as Mick Mills says, he was out of position there.

If anyone would know about playing full-back, it's Mick.

  12. 'Southampton have exposed a weakness'published at 17:57 British Summer Time 1 April

    Ipswich 1-2 Southampton

    Mick Mills
Former Ipswich and England captain on BBC Radio Suffolk

It has exposed the one weakness Leif Davis has got, he's fantastic going forward but any team playing against Town will know there is a pass in behind Davis and to the left of Cameron Burgess.

There's a lot of space there. Southampton have been good enough to pick it out.

  13. goal

GOAL: Ipswich 1-2 Southamptonpublished at 23 mins

    Adam Armstrong

    Southampton celebrateImage source, Getty Images

Sensational goal this and it's all down to the brilliance of Stuart Armstrong.

He drives forward for Southampton, carving a huge hole in the midfield and then has the poise to roll a peach of a delivery, laser-guided and razor-sharp, into the path of Adam Armstrong.

On the run, he fires it low and hard beyond Vaclav Hladky, and it's Saints who lead.

  14. Postpublished at 22 mins

    Ipswich 1-1 Southampton

Michael Salisbury has a word in the ear of captains Sam Morsy and Jack Stephens, after a frankly crude challenge from Luke Woolfenden on Che Adams.

It was like a run-away John Deere ploughing into a barn.

  15. 'Already a tough game for Ipswich'published at 17:54 British Summer Time 1 April

    Ipswich 1-1 Southampton

    Mick Mills
Former Ipswich and England captain on BBC Radio Suffolk

This is a tough sort of game. Southampton exposed Ipswich down the right hand side there. They have too much freedom. Sam Morsy had to deal with it on his own and, bless him, one thing he doesn't have an abundance of pace.

  16. Postpublished at 21 mins

    Ipswich 1-1 Southampton

Southampton yomp forward through Ryan Fraser down the left, like a clockwork mouse on full whack.

His cross finds Joe Aribo in the box, and his telescopic legs twist one way, then another, and then another which allows Ipswich to get back and make the clearance.

Celebrity Ipswich fan Ed Sheeran is in attendance.

I hope he didn't drop his mug when Leif Davis let fly.

  18. Postpublished at 18 mins

    Ipswich 1-1 Southampton

Flynn Downes has pulses racing as his teasing, whipped free-kick sears across goal and just wide of Vaclav Hladky's Ipswich goal.

    Southampton seeking a quick-fire second.

  19. YELLOW CARD: Sam Morsy (Ipswich)published at 16 mins

    Ipswich 1-1 Southampton

One of the least surprising acts to occur here.

Combative player, is the Egypt international. Loves a tackle and often gets them right.

  20. 'That's more like it - directnesspublished at 17:49 British Summer Time 1 April

    Ipswich 1-1 Southampton

    Jo Tessem
Ex-Southampton midfielder on BBC Radio Solent

There you show it - directness. Play much quicker, straight through the lines. Aribo flicks it on. 4-3-3 is an offensive formation, or it should be.

It's a killer for Ipswich, scoring straight away means they never had the chance to feel like they were infront.
