Stuart Dallas is out on the pitch after the Leeds United midfielder announced his retirement earlier in the week.

The 32-year-old, who joined from Brentford in 2015, has undergone extensive treatment on a femoral fracture suffered against Manchester City in April 2022 and called it a day on Wednesday.

Dallas played 266 time for Leeds, scoring 28 goals, and also featured 62 times for Northern Ireland.

He is given a tremendous round of applause by the home fans as he bids farewell to Elland Road and a great career.

In the Championship and the Premier League, the set-piece is so important. Leeds have so much talent, they can create something from nothing but I just don't think they have that in the squad. They don't have set-piece takers with real quality and the only way Leeds won't go up is because they might not score the set-pieces in the crucial games.

It's not a criticism of Daniel Farke, they just don't have it in the squad. They have to find other ways.

Three successive halves at home without a goal for promotion-chasing Leeds...

The home side have certainly had the better of things but Rovers keeper Aynsley Pears hasn't had too much work to do, with their best chance falling to Ethan Ampadu who headed wide.

Struggling Rovers have had barely any of it but nearly took the lead before the interval when Sammie Szmodics latched on to a loose pass in his own half and powered forward before forcing a smart low save from Illan Meslier.

All to play for in the second half.

The home fans are starting to get a bit antsy here as we head towards the break.

Leeds made a bright start in this but they've struggled to create clear-cut chances against Rovers.

The addition of one minute at the end is met with derision by fans who I think are suggesting Rovers have been wasting time...

It will all go down to the fitness and endurance levels of each individual Blackburn player because one little lapse of concentration at the wrong time...

It's an important time in the game. The amount of running they've done, the counter-attacking they've done - it's like they're being asked to cover double the distance. It's tiring and it's mentally tiring. That's why you're seeing players like Tyrhys Dolan giving away free kicks and picking up yellow cards.

Blackburn break after a dreadful pass form Crysecnio Summerville near the halfway line and nearly come up with a sucker-punch.

Sammie Szmodics, the league's top scorer, hits a fierce shot that Illan Meslier does well to keep out.

The Leeds dangerman looks to take matters into his own hands and gets a left-footed shot off but there's a reason Rovers are happy to let him shoot with his left as it flies into row Z.

There's a foul in the middle and the Rovers corner comes to nothing.

Blackburn win a corner after an incisive counter attack and could have that first shot of the game...

Our stats provider has it that Leeds have had 80% of possession so far and I have to say it has felt like that.

Blackburn are yet to have a shot and I don't know that I see that changing any time soon.

Just watching Blackburn forward Sammie Szmodics there, he's throwing his arms up telling his players to get up. He's just doing it for this own effect or for the fans. It's as if he's saying 'I'm pressing up - where are you?'

It's something I really disliked as a player. It just doesn't look good.

Again the corner doesn't come to anything of note.

Credit where it's due, Blackburn have stood up well to anything Leeds have had to offer from their multitude of set pieces so far.
