Play-off hopefuls West Brom and Hull both have home games their fans will feel are eminently winnable this afternoon, while eighth-placed Preston host Norwich, who are sixth.

The two teams immediately outside of the top six have a nine-point deficit on the Baggies but a game more to play. Having won five and drawn five of their past 10 games, it would take an abrupt slump in form for Carlos Corberan's side not to extend their campaign, but they lost 2-1 at their opponents today - midtable Sunderland - in December.

Six points from the hallowed positions with a game in hand, all of Hull's five remaining games are likely to be vital. The Tigers ended a two-game run of defeats by winning 3-1 at Cardiff last Saturday, and Liam Rosenior will be hoping QPR prove less challenging visitors than Middlesbrough did in their 2-2 draw on Wednesday.

North End manager Ryan Lowe has not played down the importance of their game against Norwich at Deepdale, where a victory would move them two points behind the Canaries with a game in hand.

For David Wagner's side, then, it's an opportunity to cement their play-off position. They were held 2-2 at Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday courtesy of two late goals for the hosts, and another draw would just about keep matters in their hands, albeit with some shoulder-glancing at the fortunes of the teams below them.

Many of your eyes might be fixed on events at Aintree for the 2024 Grand National at 16:00 BST but the Championship has a few captivating races of its own that you won't want to miss.

The survival race is truly on with seven teams separated by six points going into the final games of the season, with Blackburn wriggling free of the pack with their surprise victory at Leeds.

From Birmingham in 23rd all the way up to Plymouth, who beat league leaders Leicester at Home Park last night, no one is safe with four games remaining.

Today, Birmingham host play-off chasers Coventry while Huddersfield face a tricky trip to Bristol City.

Sheffield Wednesday host Stoke in a big match at the bottom that could see the Owls move level on points with the Potters with a win.

Millwall host Cardiff at the Den and QPR travel to Hull. The table could look very different come 17:00 BST as the runners and riders in crazy season approach the final furlong.

Who can predict what will happen in the final stages of this relentless title and promotion race?

Three thoroughbreds all neck and neck heading towards a photo finish - but who will come out on top? Who will join them in the top tier? And who will trot back to the paddock to go all over again in the play-offs? But does anyone even want to go up? Not judging by recent results!

Leicester held a 12-point lead at the top of the table two months as the 2016 Premier League champions were headed back to the top tier at a canter, but a wretched run of six defeats in 10 games, culminating in last night's defeat at Plymouth, has given chasers Ipswich and Leeds more than a sniff as they make a final charge.

Both have stuttered in their pursuit with a loss and a draw in Ipswich's their last two games and Leeds are now on a three-game winless run following their home loss to Blackburn.

Ipswich can go clear at the top with a win against Middlesbrough and take the lead into the final three matches (Leicester will have one game in hand).

Can the Tractor Boys take advantage this weekend or will they be the latest to pull up lame?

And keep an eye out for Southampton in the distance who will be ready to pounce on any more slips from the frontrunners with games in hand on the favourites.

Leeds' unbeaten home record is over in stunning fashion!

    Absolutely staggering.

The home side did so much of the running in this but they could not knock the Blackburn door down.

Rovers stood up to everything the Whites threw at them and then with less than 10 minutes to go the league's top scorer Sammie Szmodics popped up with his 30th of the season to win it for them.

Blackburn go six points clear of the bottom three.

Shell-shocked; the players, the manager. Leeds just look like they switch off. It was too easy to turn and Sammie Szmodics has not missed many of those chances all seasons. Really poor defending from Leeds.

They've got everything to do now.

Elland Road is STUNNED into silence.

A long ball is hammered down the field and Sam Gallagher's flick on is helped on by Tyrhys Dolan into the path of the league's top scorer Sammie Szmodics.

He does what he has been doing so often this season with a wonderful first time finish.

That's 30 for the season for him.

    Incredible.
