Charlie, who attended his first Manchester United match in 1963, thinks it could be the end of the road for Erik ten Hag if the Red Devils lose this semi-final.

He has sympathy for Ten Hag and says the players need to take responsibility for a season which will end trophy-less if United don't win the FA Cup.

But Charlie cannot see how the manager can survive if they lose to Coventry.

By the way, Charlie's denim jacket - plastered in United patches - was getting plenty of attention outside Wembley.

Coventry City are bidding to become the first non-Premier League side to reach an FA Cup final since Cardiff City in 2007-08. The Bluebirds lost to Portsmouth.

The last side from outside the top flight to win the trophy were West Ham, who beat Arsenal 1-0 in 1980.

Coventry are not in the greatest form in the Championship, with three defeats in their past four games, but I am a romantic at heart and I believe in fairytales too.

It is written in the stars that Sky Blues boss Mark Robins wins this tie, against his former club.

My old Norwich team-mate famously scored an FA Cup third-round winner for Manchester United in 1990 that saved Sir Alex Ferguson's job, but now I think he will push Erik ten Hag closer to the exit door.

Some United fans get very angry on social media whenever I predict they will lose, like last week when I thought Bournemouth would beat them.

But, while I did not get the result right on that occasion, another weak United performance in their 2-2 draw validated everything I said about them.

United should be beating Coventry comfortably but they have lacked consistency all season and I don't have faith in them to suddenly find it now.

So, let me dream a little here. I've got great memories of the 1987 final, when Keith Houchen's diving header helped Coventry upset Tottenham and lift the FA Cup, and what a day it would be for them if they win.

    Sutton's prediction: 2-1

  14. Do EFL want a Man Utd win?published at 15:21 British Summer Time 21 April

I suspect there may be a few officials at the Football League crossing their fingers Manchester United win today's game.

With a couple of games in hand and a decent goal difference, it is not yet out of the question that Coventry make it through to the Championship play-offs.

And, if they got to the final, that would give the EFL a problem.

The FA Cup final is on Saturday, 25 May. The Championship play-off final is at Wembley following day.

The EFL say they have a contingency - but have not revealed what it is.

I am guessing it is not to force Coventry to play on successive days.

  15. 'We are prepared and we know their team'published at 15:20 British Summer Time 21 April

Coventry v Man Utd (15:30 BST)

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag says they will "have to play to our best levels" to beat Coventry today.

"They are dangerous, that is logical, they are in the semi-final," he said.

"Last season they were not far away from promotion to the Premier League and we have seen the game against Wolves in the quarter-final. The mentality is fabulous.

"We did our job, we are prepared and we know their team, how they play, the individual abilities of the players and we know the manager, he's doing a fantastic job over there so we know a lot about them."

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag to ITV Sport: "We have a big opportunity to go to the FA Cup final. Even in the best moments of Manchester United it wasn't that often they got to the final. Maybe three times in decade.

On their defensive issues: "We have to solve it and we will do. We have a lot of injuries especially in the back four.

"We have run out of options. We have two very experienced players [Harry Maguire and Casemiro] who can sort it out.

"We can grow to the occasion and compete with the best teams in the world when we're at our best. But we also have lows."

  19. 'Last season was last season'published at 15:14 British Summer Time 21 April

Coventry v Man Utd (15:30 BST)

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag says "when you have so many problems you have to find solutions".

"Last season was last season," he said of the team who won the Carabao Cup, qualified for the Champions League and reached the FA Cup final.

"We want to achieve every season, we want to win trophies. We have a big opportunity, we are in a semi-final but it's a huge challenge.

"On Sunday we will find solutions and we want to go into the final."

He was asked if winning the FA Cup would salvage their season.

"You have to always see the circumstances we have to face but I'm not thinking in this moment about this," he said.

"I'm thinking about Sunday, how we beat Coventry City and the rest is for later. We are planning for next season but for now it's all about Sunday."

Mark Robins sold the FA Cup winners' medal he received for playing his part in Manchester United's 1990 triumph.

"I was very foolish. It was my decision and I definitely regret it now," the Coventry City manager said.

"There was a reason behind it but we won't go into that detail," added Robins about the decision to part with his United medal collection, which also included mementos from the 1990-91 European Cup Winners' Cup and 1991 European Super Cup.

"In fairness I should have let them go to a museum and then you can still sort of keep hold of them."

Will Robins be receiving another FA Cup winners' medal at Wembley on 25 May?
