    Table

Here's how things stand in the second tier after tonight's action.

Raith pass up the opportunity to narrow the gap at the top to just one point and will need to be near-perfect to prevent Dundee United from automatically returning to the Premiership.

Airdrie are looking comfy in fourth, while it's as you were for Ayr and Morton.

FT: Ayr United 1-1 Greenock Morton

Not sure either manager will be too happy with a point at Somerset.

They might just be pleased to get everyone off the park in one piece.

As this picture shows, it was - emmm - physical.

  5. Diamonds shine againpublished at 21:47 British Summer Time 9 April

    FT: Raith Rovers 1-3 Airdrieonians

A lot of people will focus on Raith's defeat here - understandable given the title race that has unfolded this term.

But that's another massively impressive win for Airdrie. They've now got a six-point cushion in the final promotion play-off spot.

Could back-to-back promotions be on the cards?

    They just couldn’t be separated.

Two great headed goals by Kirk Broadfoot and Anton Dowdsin the first half was as good as it got, and Ayr United hit the crossbar in the second.

Airdrieonians’ win makes it harder for this pair to reach fourth, as well.

    It’s all over!

A massive win and a deserved one at that for Airdrie as they take a huge leap towards the promotion play-offs.

For Rovers they now need to probably win their remaining four matches and hope United slip up somewhere along then road.

  9. FULL-TIME Raith Rovers 1-3 Airdrieonianspublished at 21:39 British Summer Time 9 April

Raith Rovers fail to make the most of their game in hand and remain four points behind league leaders Dundee United.

Full credit to Airdrie, that's four wins over their former manager this term.

  10. FULL-TIME Ayr United 1-1 Greenock Mortonpublished at 21:37 British Summer Time 9 April

    All square at Somerset Park.

Kirk Broadfoot's tidy flick gave the visitors the lead, before Anton Dowds answered back.

It means both sides remain in with a shout of finishing in the promotion and relegation play-offs.

    Aye, this league.
