It was a lovely curled free-kick from the left-hand side by Michael Garrity, and former Rangers centre-back Broadfoot got the neatest of headed flicks onto it to glance the ball into the bottom right corner.
Raith Rovers 0-0 Airdrieonians
Sam Stanton is also now beginning to show real quality. He glided beyond a couple of Airdrie defenders and his cross was met by the head of Hamilton but straight into the palms of Robbie Hemfrey.
Decent game as we approach the midway point in the first half.
Kirk Broadfoot
The veteran centre-half sends the visitors into the lead.

Mason Hancock is now beginning to cause the home defence some issues. Another cross into the box met by Nikolay Todorov but again the ball ends up in the arms of Kevin Dabrovski in the Raith goal.
The Raith defence will have to keep an eye on Todorov, who has scored three times against them this season.
Two of those being winners!

Anton Dowds has netted 10 times for Ayr this season, but when the ball fell to him just inside the box there, the on-loan Partick Thistle striker could only lift it over the crossbar.
15 minutes in, no goals.
If I know this league, it shouldn't be too much longer before something kicks off.
I hope...

Airdrie slowly finding their feet and only a terrific block by Keith Watson denied Nik Todorov a clear shot on goal from around 12 yards out.
Good build-up play involving captain Adam Frizzell and Hibs loanee Kanayo Megwa.

I think we’re going to have a running battle between Ayr defender Jack Sanders and Morton striker George Oakley tonight.
We’re only 10 minutes in and the pair have already kept referee Iain Sneddon busy with a couple of coming togethers!

First chance of the evening comes for Raith.
A knockdown inside the box by Jack Hamilton was almost met by Sam Stanton who was racing in, but the ball eventually ends up in the hands of Robbie Hemfrey in the Airdrie goal.
Raith certainly on the front foot in opening five minutes.

Ayr striker Fraser Bryden with the first real chance of the match inside three minutes but the youngster drags his left-foot shot wide of the far post.

Airdrie have won three of the four meetings between themselves and Raith this season but it will be interesting to see how they handle the pressure that is now on with the end of the season now in sight.
A few hundred fans have made the trip from Lanarkshire this evening whilst once again the home support have turned up in good numbers.
The sprinklers are on, the ball boys are prepared, the sound of Geordie Munro is blasting over the PA system.
Forget Real Madrid v Man City. This could be a classic!
Off we go at Parks Stark's and Somerset.
Who will be buzzing by the end of the night?

Manager Scott Brown and Dougie Imrie had plenty tussles on the pitch as players, but this is the first time they’ve come up against each other in opposite dug-outs.
They’ve been speaking to us pre-match:
Brown on Imrie: “There’s a big enough distance between me and Dougie (on the touchline) so we’ll be alright! No, Dougie’s a fantastic guy. He had a fantastic footballing career and now he’s doing the same in management.”
Imrie on Brown: “We had some good times as players. He’s a model pro in the way he drove Celtic as captain all those years. He’s done well since coming to Ayr but hopefully we come out on top tonight.”
Ayr United v Greenock Morton (19:45)
These two knew a thing or two about winding opposition fans up in their playing days.
Nowadays, the pair seem to have cooler heads as they're starting out in their fledgling managerial careers.
That's not to say they're without the odd flash of the old fire Scottish football became accustomed to.
Our man Kenny Crawford has been hearing about their battles...

After a day in Fife where we almost had four seasons in one day, the sun is now out and hopefully a feast of football awaits at Stark's Park.
Rovers know a win is badly needed to maintain then pressure on Dundee United as the battle for the Championship title continues.
Meanwhile, an Airdrie win would open up a six-point gap on Dunfermline in the race for a promotion play-off spot.
The Championship this season has once again delivered excitement and passion that other leagues can only wish for.

Delighted to be at Somerset Park tonight watching two clubs pretty much in the same situation.
They've got one eye on reaching the promotion play-offs and the other one looking at warding off a potential relegation scrap, with five games left in the regular season.
Raith Rovers v Airdrieonians (19:45)
It's fair to say Airdrie have been Raith Rovers' bogey team this term.
Four times the sides have met, resulting in three Diamonds wins and one draw.
One of those wins came in the semi-finals of the SPFL Trust Trophy, which Rhys McCabe's side went on to win last month.
Nikolay Todorov has scored in three of the meetings. Wonder if he grabs another tonight?
Tonight's fixtures are BIG games for all kinds of reasons.
Of course, for Raith Rovers, it's all about narrowing the gap to leaders Dundee United in this thrilling title race.
In Airdrie's case, their desperate to make their first season back in the second tier a memorable win and cling on to the final promotion play-off spot.
Meanwhile, Ayr and Morton find themselves in the halfway house. A win tonight gives them a real shot of challenging for the top four, but a defeat would leave them precariously close to the relegation play-off.
All to play for.
