West Ham 0-0 Liverpool
Of course, VAR wants to have a look.
And the video assistant referee is in no hurry to make a decision.
West Ham 0-0 Liverpool
Oh. My. Word.
Liverpool think they have a penalty but it's immediately ruled out for offside.
First, Cody Gakpo goes down and then there's a handball inside the box.
West Ham 0-0 Liverpool
At least Liverpool are showing some sort of fight.
They're certainly not feeling sorry for themselves after Wednesday.
West Ham 0-0 Liverpool
Now Lucas Paqueta takes a tumble inside the Liverpool box after challenging for the ball with Jarell Quansah.
The home fans want a penalty. Referee Anthony Taylor says no.

Funny when a new manager comes in and suddenly Liverpool players actually want to turn up today
Ashley
Nunez on the bench today. I think he’d fit better as a hard-to-handle sub to bring on when things need mixing up, but not as a game-managing starter. At least for a team with Liverpools pedigree. Will be interesting to see how Slot uses him

West Ham 0-0 Liverpool
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson are both standing over the ball.
Who will take it? This is within scoring range.
Up steps Alexander-Arnold who sends it over the bar.
West Ham 0-0 Liverpool
Cody Gakpo is fouled on the edge of the West Ham box by Mohammed Kudus.
This is a good chance for Liverpool.

The main threat for West Ham is on the counter.
They have a great front three with real quality.

Surprised one of the rich clubs hasn't snapped up Bowen. Quality player that I know Klopp rates. Hopefully we'll put in a bid for him.

West Ham 0-0 Liverpool
Harvey Elliott has had a good opening 15 minutes or so. He is at the heart of all his side's best moves. Elliott is involved in a move which presents Ryan Gravenberch with half a chance. Alphonse Areola is down to gather.

On David Moyes' future at West Ham...
David Moyes is done.
The silence is enough you have seen it before at West Ham with Sam Allardyce.
West Ham don't make a comment and after the last game of the season they say 'thanks very much' and let him go.
West Ham 0-0 Liverpool
First shot in anger from the home side.
Jarrod Bowen's attempt from the edge of the D is comfortably saved by Alisson.
Moments later Luis Diaz thinks he is in but puts it over the bar.
It wouldn't have counted had it gone in anyway. The offside flag went up as soon as the ball cleared the bar.

Lots of West Ham fan bashing here. We do really like Moyes but you don't watch us every week. Very negative tactics with zero academy players getting a look in. If moyes is that good, which top job is he getting then?
Scott, Rugby
I’m a Palace fan and was previously on the same page as some of those criticising WHU fans. Went to the game last week however where they were appalling (not taking away from us). We could have scored 10. I have some sympathy for their dissatisfaction now or at least know where the complaints come from. Like Liverpool, they may need a refresh.

West Ham 0-0 Liverpool
West Ham win a corner and it's not bad. Liverpool just about do enough to get it clear.
Now another cross into the Reds box but Virgil van Dijk is well positioned to head clear.
The Hammers are enjoying a first decent spell.

Paqueta with a very naughty challenge there and again the referee not handling it properly. I don’t think the referees at this level are anywhere near good enough anymore. All they’ve succeeded in doing this year is protecting themselves from any challenge or scrutiny.

Ankle breaker on Mac Allister, dangerous foul nothing given

West Ham 0-0 Liverpool
Now Harvey Elliott, who is steaming in unmarked, lashes a chance into the side netting.
Liverpool have had 81% possession in the opening 10 minutes.
West Ham 0-0 Liverpool
Liverpool have won a couple of free-kicks inside the West Ham. The latest one is taken short and the move ends with Luis Diaz going down in the box. VAR has had a look but play goes on.
West Ham 0-0 Liverpool
First impressions...
Liverpool are here to make an impression. They've been bright and breezy so far.
West Ham haven't really got going yet.
West Ham 0-0 Liverpool
Alexis Mac Allister has had a decent first season at Anfield.
He's just gone down in pain after a heavy challenge by Lucas Paqueta.
The Brazilian is fortunate to escape a yellow card for that.
