  1. That's all folks!published at 22:45 British Summer Time 27 April

What a way to draw a close to this bumper day of football.

It began with a draw as West Ham shared the points with Liverpool at London Stadium, almost certainly ruling the Reds out of the title race.

Sheffield United were officially relegated as they slumped to a 5-1 defeat at Newcastle in the 15:00 BST matches.

Burnley kept their hopes of beating relegation alive courtesy of a 1-1 draw at Manchester United, while Luton remain firmly in the relegation mix after a 2-1 loss at Wolves.

It was all square at Craven Cottage between Fulham and Crystal Palace before Everton ensured they will be playing Premier League football again next season following a 1-0 win against Brentford.

It wouldn't be a Premier League Saturday without some serious debate about VAR, though, and we got that as well as a comeback in the finale as Chelsea came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Aston Villa.

There's plenty more to come tomorrow, including the north London derby between Tottenham and Arsenal and Bournemouth host Brighton - both at 14:00 BST.

Manchester City travel to Nottingham Forest at 16:30 BST.

    Thanks for joining us!

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery to BBC Sport: "Very happy. We were winning 2-0 but today we achieved one very great objective we had during the season - to get Europa League, and to still be a contender with Tottenham trying to get fourth position.

"You have to motivated, excited, very proud of our work. Chelsea are a very good team. We got one point. Chelsea played very well.

"In 35 matches we are being consistent. I accept everything happened."

  3. 'To draw at the end is a very good result'published at 22:41 British Summer Time 27 April

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery, speaking to TNT Sports: "Good evening, we are very happy because today we achieved the first thing improving.

"We wanted to play Europa League last year and now we have a new challenge which is to play Champions League.

    "Chelsea today showed the power.

"But, we are being consistent in 35 matches to draw at the end is a very good result.

    "I want more, of course.

    "Chelsea have very good players.

"The result was amazing in the first half. We were defending well and we didn't concede a lot but of course we needed to keep more possession and it is difficult against Chelsea."

On Morgan Rogers: "He has been very quick and after we needed him to play more minutes - of course he is helping us out."

On injured players effecting form: "We have to try to keep being consistent with the players we have and I believe in the players.

"After this draw we are now thinking on Thursday against Olympiacos and it will be a tough.

"In Premier League we are fighting with Tottenham for fourth position."

What's the fuss? There was a foul before the goal, and it was disallowed. Exactly what VAR was designed to capture.

    Tom, Newcastle.

  5. Disallowed goal 'will be in the headlines'published at 22:37 British Summer Time 27 April

    FT: Aston Villa 2-2 Chelsea

    Chelsea

More from Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to TNT Sports: "I am calm and it is only to help.

"The performance was very good and we played really well it is true in the first half we conceded easy.

"The things we tried to change the team didn't concede too much.

"To play Villa who are fighting for the top four I am pleased with the team and the players were good.

"I think that it was what we expected and today was a good opportunity against a good team.

"Now, we have to move on and it will be in the headlines with the disallowed goal."

Jon Evans: Poor performance in the end that. Disappointing. But somehow got a point. Need to play better in Europe and the final 3 games if we want to get over the line. Need to get better at being 2-0 up too.

Ross Matthewman: Considering how utterly shocking we were second half, I’d absolutely take that draw. Decent point. Pressure still on Spurs.

  7. 'Damaged myself, damaged my team, my players, my fans'published at 22:32 British Summer Time 27 April

    FT: Aston Villa 2-2 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino to BBC Sport: "The performance was great against a very good team. Disappointed but what can we do? We need to move on."

On if he thought their late goal should have stood: "Me and you and everyone in the stadium watching the game. They didn't see a foul on the pitch and then VAR changed the decision of the referee. For me that was a normal challenge. The decision was there and that's it.

"For me it damaged a little bit the Premier League and English [football]. If we want to be the best league in the world it should be protecting the spectacle and the decision. At Wembley for handball was a penalty against Manchester City and the referee didn't check and the VAR didn't advise the referee to see the incident.

"Damaged myself, damaged my team, my players, my fans.

"We are a young team. The performance was good. I'm so happy with the reaction."

Which Chelsea are you going to get? Toss a coin. Which VAR decisions are you going to get? Seems like they toss a coin too…

    Mark, Teddington

The only strange thing about the disallowed goal was the referee didn't spot the foul in the first place.

    Paul, Stourbridge

  9. VAR 'has damaged English football'published at 22:28 British Summer Time 27 April

    FT: Aston Villa 2-2 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to TNT Sports: "Everyone that was watching the game will feel disappointed.

"Two different things the referee said it was a foul and disallowed the goal and then going to the VAR to confirm.

"The referee is unbelievable and it's ridiculous. It is difficult to accept, these type of things in the semi-final [FA Cup against Man City] two weeks ago it was handball and it was no penalty, the referee he didn't check it.

"It is painful as it has damaged English football and I think Villa players and their fans didn't understand why the goal was disallowed.

"They said it was foul and if you see the challenge what happened if we go into every single challenge like this it is going to be a foul and we wouldn't finish the game with 11 [players].

"We can talk about the performance or the decision - it is damaging the game."

VAR just isn’t doing the job it was intended for. The officials were incompetent before so that’s why it was brought in yet it’s those same officials using VAR!

    Dave

My issue isn't that a foul is given. My issue is that the ref had a good view in real time and didn't give it. Allowed jubilant celebrations, just for VAR to ruin it. Why didn't he blow up after it happened?

    James, London

  12. 'Do I think the goal should have stood? Yes'published at 22:20 British Summer Time 27 April

    FT: Aston Villa 2-2 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea's Noni Madueke: "Should it have been three points? Yes. Do I think the goal should have stood? Yes. Nothing else to say about the situation.

"We need to play better at times in phases of the game. We have an abundance of quality and when we fire we're a match for any team. The last game was terrible. For 70 minutes today the team were outstanding.

"It's a process. I'm proud of the team today.

"We beat them here earlier in the season as well. We wanted to come here and win but it wasn't to be."

That draw keeps the door to the top four wide open for Tottenham now.

Spurs are seven points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa with three games in hand.

Tottenham do not have an easy run-in, though. Ange Postecoglou's side host Arsenal on Sunday and they still have to play Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City as well as already relegated Sheffield United and Burnley.

  14. 'We might look back on it as a good point'published at 22:14 British Summer Time 27 April

    FT: Aston Villa 2-2 Chelsea

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers: "We are disappointed. They controlled the game, most of the game.

"We should probably see the game out. We might look back on it as a good point because they're a good team.

"There was a mountain of pressure. They're good players, they're going to score goals.

On Cole Palmer's standard goal celebration: "He definitely copied me. It's my celebration. Check the timeline, I did it first. He's one of my closest friends in life. I couldn't be more proud of him. He's showing everyone what I knew he could do two or three years ago."

Chelsea skipper Conor Gallagher, speaking to TNT Sports: "We are gutted.

"Quite a poor first half, just too slow on the ball. Second half was brilliant and we come back, I felt we should have won the game. I am proud of the lads for their second half performance.

"The gaffer long story short said 'liven up and work harder' like I said the second half was a lot better."

On his goal: "Absolute swinger! I was happy with the goal and disappointed to not get the third.

"We had chances to win and we showed great character. The goal at the end should have counted, but it is not my decision. We can hold our heads high and take a lot of confidence from that.

"We are still on a journey to keep improving and nowhere near where we want to be as a club.

"I try my best and I have so much to improve on as well in every aspect of my game."

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 22:09 British Summer Time 27 April

It wasn't entirely clear who Craig Pawson had shown those yellow cards to after the full time whistle but it has now been confirmed as Noni Madueke and Benoit Badiashile.

Aston Villa have been one the more difficult teams to play this season, they beat title contenders Arsenal at the Emirates earlier this month and are firmly in the race for a top four spot.

But they were played off the park by a Chelsea tonight.

It'll be interesting to hear the thoughts of Mauricio Pochettino about that goal being ruled out in additional time.

    It's over.

Chelsea players have just sprinted to referee Craig Pawson and at least one yellow card was shown there.

Cole Palmer and Conor Gallagher are among those making complaints.

One of Chelsea's coaching staff has comes across to try and drag the players away.
