I think Nicolas Jackson has just gone too early, he is just offside.

It is a fine line between success and failure that high line of Villa's, but the goal won't count this time.

The back four are just congratulating one another now, they got that one just right.

  2. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 20:19 British Summer Time 27 April

    Aston Villa 1-0 Chelsea

    It won't stand though!

Unai Emery was stood arms outstretched in disbelief on the touchline - he could hardly believe that Villa hadn't got their offside trap right in the opinion of the linesman.

They had, though! VAR have to draw the lines and Nicolas Jackson is offside by a couple of inches.

That's a lovely finish from Nicolas Jackson.

Chelsea thread a ball through to Senegal forward and he flicks it over the head of goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

Here come Villa on the counter.

Ollie Watkins wins the ball on the halfway line and charges forward before laying it across to John McGinn. The Scot is wasteful though.

Every Chelsea player barring Djordje Petrovic is inside Aston villa's half of the field.

The hosts have opted to retreat into a defensive shape since scoring.

Chelsea seem to be settling into the game now.

They are seeing a decent amount of the ball in the midfield but are struggling to find a way through to goal.

This is the first time since February 1998 (v Arsenal and Leicester) that Chelsea have conceded in the opening four minutes in consecutive Premier League games.

Leandro Trossard scored after four minutes on Tuesday during Chelsea's 5-0 loss against Arsenal.

That game remained 1-0 until the 52nd minute.

Sorry in response to James, how on earth can you call yourself a Chelsea fan if you’re conflicted about us winning? Surely Chelsea winning is all you’d ever want? Shocking attitude for a “so called fan”?!

That didn't take long!!! Long night ahead for Chelsea. What a waste of money this team is.

Chelsea not having any joy nor any fortune either. McGinn miss-kicks and still ends up in the back of the net. Uphill battle within 4 minutes.

The noise levels at Villa Park have just gone up a notch.

Lucas Digne has just gone close to grabbing a second for Villa.

The France defender hits a sweet volley on his left foot and it ripples the side netting.

Chelsea did well, both the wide players tracked back, which they didn't do against Arsenal, but no one stopped Pau Torres.

The Chelsea defenders run beyond, John McGinn didn't get that much of a good finish on it but it touched Marc Cucurella and went in.

It is a poor start from Chelsea, great from Aston Villa.

Very conflicted this weekend. I'm a Chelsea fan who wants Villa to finish above Spurs and I don't want Arsenal to win the league. I can't win this weekend can I?

How do Chelsea approach this game?

They suffered a humbling at Arsenal on Tuesday, losing 5-0.

They've just gently worked their way up the field and won a free kick. Conor Gallagher angles it into the box but Benoit Badiashile takes a wild swipe and it's well wide.

I've been a Chelsea fan for 40 years, thats the weakest bench I've ever seen Chelsea put out. In any competition. I dont care about injuries, £1,000,000,000 spent in two seasons and thats all they had?

  20. 'Mauricio Pochettino has got the hardest job in world football.'published at 20:00 British Summer Time 27 April

Aston Villa v Chelsea (20:00 BST)

    Joe Cole
Ex-Chelsea and England midfielder on TNT Sports

Chelsea are not where they want to be, that's a fact, and not where they should be with the money they have spent and the players that have come in and gone out the door.

I think Mauricio Pochettino has got the hardest job in world football. It is clear that he is not in control of player ins and outs, expectations are massive, and the expectation from the fans is massive, and rightly so given where they have been in the Premier League and in Europe in the last ten years.

Changing manager is not the right way to go, stick with him and move forward.
