A first win for Nico Rosberg in Spain, but Michael Schumacher's record of six Spanish GP wins looks to go unchallenged for a fair while yet. There are only two multiple winners in the current field of drivers, with Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso winning it twice.

McLaren took a step forward by getting both cars into Q2 on Saturday, but it was another frustrating Sunday as Fernando Alonso had to bail out because of brake problem, while Jenson Button, who finished 16th, was not happy with how his car handled at all.

This was only the second time in Alonso's career that he has failed to finish the Spanish GP, 2008 being the other one.

Phil Slocombe: Considering Lewis made 3 stops(1 slow) to Nico´s 2 and was only beaten by 17 seconds, it speaks volumes about who is the best driver.

Lewis Hamilton finished in the top two for the 12th consecutive race, the second longest streak of all time.

Michael Schumacher holds the record for the longest streak, with 15 top-two finishes in a row in 2002.

  11. Ferrari closed the gap?published at 15:31 British Summer Time 10 May 2015

Sebastian Vettel finished third, continuing his record of finishing in the top five in every race this season, but did Ferrari manage to close the gap?

The result would suggest not, with Vettel 45 seconds behind Rosberg. However, Ferrari did seem to fluff things up with a bad strategy for the former world champion. Once they switched to three stop, the Mercedes were just too quick.

Jenson Button marked his 100th race for McLaren by finishing 16th, but it sounds like it was a race he was glad to see the back of.

"It was pretty scary to drive," he said. "I'm sure there's something wrong. As soon as you touch the power, the rear end snaps immediately."

He's been waiting a while to tweet this one! Nico Rosberg is straight on his smartphone to tweet a celebratory picture of his first race win since last year's Brazilian GP.

He also continues an interesting trend at the Spanish Grand Prix, becoming the ninth different winner of the last nine races.

  14. "Two first places"published at 15:15 British Summer Time 10 May 2015

Mercedes' Toto Wolff, speaking via Formula1.com: "It feels like two P1s. Three stops for Lewis was a bold move, but with his great driving, we achieved P2."

YorkshireTaff: To be fair - Rosberg drove a good, controlled race. The win was well deserved. I feel sick just saying that...

Meskilla: Another quite boring F1 Race. Even purists like myself cannot get exited by F1 Tyre Management Simulator 2015.

Matt Jones: For all this boring F1 talk, we have a three-driver championship, close midfield racing and the underlying McLaren development story.

  17. "Sometimes you lose a bit more"published at 15:07 British Summer Time 10 May 2015

Sebastian Vettel, third place: "We were hanging there pretty well. We had a good start, able to get past Lewis and we did the right thing covering him at the first stop.

"But when they switched to the three-stop we couldn't keep up, they were too quick today.

"We tried everything we could. Going through traffic is never easy. Sometimes you're lucky and sometime you lose a bit more."
