    Sparks are kicking up from the back of Pastor Maldonado's damaged Lotus.

    He is down in 18th but is nevertheless giving it his all and he picks off Jenson Button at Turn One to move into 17th.

    Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso are some way off a points finish at the moment, running in 17th and 14th respectively with 26 laps gone.

    Remember when the engine cover blew off Romain Grosjean's Lotus in spectacular fashion during practice? Well, it sounds like he is being warned to avoid that happening again.

    He is told over team radio: "Romain, if your don't lift when you hit the bad gear you will blow the engine up. You have to."

    Grosjean is currently eighth, behind Daniel Ricciardo.

    As Lewis Hamilton keeps up his pursuit of Sebastian Vettel, he may have to keep a close eye on his mirror with Valtteri Bottas flying.

    He is 9.6 seconds behind the Briton but his last two laps have been faster than both Hamilton's and Vettel's.

    Discussing Lotus' decision to remove the right-hand vertical element of Pastor Maldonado's rear wing due to damage caused in a tangle with team-mate Romain Grosjean.

    "That's a brave call. The centre beam above the exhaust is actually where the structure is supported. The weight coming off the rear tyre is supported by that element.

    "He's at sub-optimal aerodynamic configuration."

    Kimi Raikkonen re-emerges on the circuit with the hard compounded tyre bolted on, the only one of those at the front of the pack not to stop for mediums.

    After 19 laps, Nico Rosberg leads Sebastian Vettel by 6.2 seconds, with Lewis Hamilton just under a second behind the Ferrari.

    Hang on, what's happened here? Pastor Maldonado's rear wing is damaged after contact with Romain Grosjean in the first two laps.

    There is a bit hanging off it and it is effectively snapped off with an almighty tug by a mechanic when Maldonado pits, leaving him with two thirds of a rear wing.

    Meanwhile up at the front, Kimi Raikkonen leads ahead of Nico Rosberg, the Finn yet to stop.

    Meanwhile, Sebastian Vettel makes his first stop, in and out in 2.3 seconds, before Nico Rosberg also heads in.
