    Edward Williamson:  That's Bottas's race pretty much over for the day then.

    Steve FX:  Interesting if different tyres being used as a way to balance grip levels. FIA getting far too interferring with pointless penalties

    Grapevine Grand Prix:  This race won’t get any better for Bottas if the rain comes. We’ve all seen how poorly that Williams handles in the wet.

    Sebastian Vettel makes his first stop - the first of the top 10 to do so - and switches to medium tyres before resuming in sixth.

    Lewis Hamilton, now on the medium tyre after his stop, clocks his fastest lap so far with 1:54.938. He is in P1, with Nico Rosberg 3.4s down the road in second.

    Meanwhile, confirmation of a drive-through penalty for Valtteri Bottas, he takes it and rejoins in 11th. Big blow to Williams' hopes of a good result here.

    Lewis Hamilton's stop sees Sebastian Vettel inherit the lead, but the Ferrari is yet to make its first stop.

    Meanwhile, stewards are investigating Valtteri Bottas after the wrong tyre was fitted.

    Nico Rosberg pits, takes on mediums heads back out and is immediately attacked at the Kemmel straight by Sergio Perez but Rosberg holds onto his position. He is second behind Lewis Hamilton, who is heading in for his stop now with 14 laps completed.

    My word! No lack of confidence from the 17-year-old Max Verstappen as he sweeps along the outside of Felipe Nasr at Blanchimont, nicks the inside line and is into 11th.

    Daniil Kvyat locks up and is off at the Bus Stop. He pits soon after, with Valtteri Bottas, Romain Grosjean, Felipe Massa and Max Verstappen also making their first stops.

    Daniel Ricciardo makes the switch to medium tyres and is back out in 12th. Sergio Perez heads in and takes on more softs, meaning Nico Rosberg is now up to second, 8.5s behind Lewis Hamilton.
