Plenty of cars out on track - which is useful if you're looking to simulate race laps.
There's a Williams off the track. It's Valtteri Bottas. It's a really delicate spin from the Finn, who nearly takes out a couple of seagulls in the process. He quickly asks for feedback from his team on his rear wing.
Surely it's Kimi's fault?
We're on to simulating race laps now, and Lewis Hamilton is told to aim for around one minute 16 seconds.
Nico Rosberg is heading into the pits after complaining about a difficulty with switching from second to third gear.
Actually, scratch that, he's in the pits to do a practice start. His team insist there isn't an issue. The German rattles through the gears fine.
Max Verstappen finds some oversteer and then finds the grass. He's down in 13th.
He tells his Toro Rosso team on the radio that the back end was proving difficult.

You're all displaying tremendous sympathy for Fernando Alonso and McLaren...

BBC Sport’s chief F1 writer Andrew Benson at Interlagos: “Continuing on the theme of Ferrari and young drivers, Michael Schumacher’s son Mick spent two days in Monza last week testing with the Prema Formula Three team, who run drivers from the Ferrari Driver Academy.
"Schumacher will run with Prema in European F3 next year, but is not - yet at least - an official member of the FDA. Mick also visited Maranello, although apparently this was only because he wanted to see the room where his father had spent so much time during his career with the team.
"While there, Schumacher bumped into team boss Maurizio Arrivabene as he was leaving the famous Cavallino restaurant by the factory, as one was on his way in and the other on the way out, and they had a chat. It’s clearly one to watch, although those close to Schumacher’s season in Formula 4 this year say he has not yet proved to be anything out of the ordinary as an ambitious young driver.”
And Nico Rosberg is not messing around. He's straight out there with the quickest lap of the weekend - 1:12.385. Almost half a second quicker than Lewis Hamilton's best.
FP2 is go, go, go again. Fernando Alonso won't be part of it, mind. We have 48 minutes to go.
Poor Fernando. This is the slump of a man who's desolate. I almost expect him to start thrashing his McLaren with a tree branch.

Cruel Amy. Funny. But cruel.
Also funny.
A worry for Fernando Alonso. His McLaren puffs out a few guffs of smoke as he changes gear and there's even a lick of flame.
He's told to pull over and the red flag comes out.
Now the Spaniard is sat on a barrier like a weekday shopper waiting for a bus.
Valtteri Bottas goes quickest in the session on the soft option. The Finn clocks 1:13.603, which is still not faster than Lewis Hamilton's top run in FP1 and just 0.031 quicker than Hamilton in this session.
Valtteri Bottas, currently sixth, is on track and is the first man today to use the soft tyres. Let's see how his new kicks affect his times.
Expect more to follow suit and the times to drop.
The pressure of having the whole of Interlagos to himself might have got to Romain a bit.
Poor old Romain Grosjean. He's the only fella on the track at the moment.
Oh wait, here comes Fernando Alonso. He is told the rain should not be issue across the team radio.
We've got just over an hour of FP2 to go.

“On the subject of interest from other teams in Red Bull drivers, Daniel Ricciardo is under contract until the end of 2018 and Max Verstappen until the end of 2017.
"Red Bull team principal Christian Horner said: 'It’s testimony to the Red Bull junior programme that investing in young talent and giving these guys a chance, like Max and before him Daniel Ricciardo, Kvyat, Sebastian Vettel, are all youngsters that have been given the opportunity.
"If you think back to Sebastian Vettel, BMW didn’t take up that opportunity with him, and Red Bull has put its neck out and supported young talent and Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz are extremely promising and prodigious young talents.
"Of course having invested in them, I’m not going to go into the details of what their contractual status is, but rival teams are speaking to the wrong people if they’re talking to the driver because the driver has a contract. As with all the junior drivers, they’re all Red Bull Racing drivers and currently (Verstappen) is on loan to Toro Rosso, as is Carlos Sainz, and Daniil Kvyat and Daniel Ricciardo before them’.”
Lewis Hamilton goes quickest in the session with a 1:13.634 as the rain falls steadily, but unthreateningly. I don't think unthreateningly is a word but I'm going with it.
Just as Lewis goes quickest, Daniil Kvyat is telling his Red Bull team that the track is getting too wet through sectors two and three to go quickly. Kvyat then goes and clocks his fastest lap to go fifth.
Felipe Massa has come out with a bit more poise. He's up to eighth and is staying on the grey stuff.

“There is going to be an internal reshuffle at Ferrari over the winter. Former Mercedes engineer Jock Clear was signed by them last winter, but has been unable to join all season because of contractual restrictions. He will start in January, in a role that will be given a title that reflect his position as head of engineering but he will be de facto number two at the track to technical director James Allison.
“Already there are rumours emerging from the team that 2016 will be Kimi Raikkonen’s last season. The name at the top of the list to replace him? Again, as last summer, it is Daniel Ricciardo. But of course Sebastian Vettel is not keen on that after the Australian beat him at Red Bull in 2014. Ferrari are very pleased with Vettel so far and so that means they are may well focus on Max Verstappen instead, although they are looking around and keeping their eyes open at the moment, with plenty of time to make a decision.”
