13:33The chequered flag comes out as the final laps are finished.
Lewis Hamilton is top with a 1:13.543. He's the only man to go under one minute 14 secs.
After that Nico Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel have barely anything between them, then Daniel Ricciardo and Kimi Raikkonen make up the top five.

13:30That pit-lane near-miss aside, it's not been a bad session for Jolyon Palmer, who is 12th and less than two tenths of a second down on team-mate Pastor Maldonado.

13:28Kimi Raikkonen is storming towards the paddock - he's not angry, he just storms everywhere. His first practice is over while Ferrari check on the car following his meeting with the gravel.
Lewis Hamilton still leads from Nico Rosberg, Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo.

13:26Britain's Jolyon Palmer, who has a seat for Lotus next year, is having a run out for his team today. He almost gets in a right pickle as his team send him out of the garage right into the path of Jenson Button in the pit-lane. Jenson avoids a collision, but is not a happy bunny.

13:25Red Bull might need more than this little trinket this weekend...

13:22An odd one for Kimi Raikkonen. He seems to be having few problems until the back end kicks out and sends him off track.
Let's just blame Valtteri Bottas...

13:19Williams have acknowledged their grip issues. To be fair, they do tend to take it easy in first practice...

13:16It's actually been a frustrating run for Felipe Massa. Who has wobbled and wiggled his way around Interlagos for the most part today. There will be a conversation with his Williams engineers, one would have thought. He's almost two seconds down on Lewis Hamilton, just a year after finishing on the podium here 12 months ago.

13:14With 16 minutes left, there are a handful of drivers on track. Both of the Brazilians are there - the Felipe's of Massa and Nasr. The latter is down in 18th, while Massa is just two places higher.

'Clutch feels weird'published at 13:08 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2015
13:08 GMT 13 November 2015Now Lewis Hamilton is on the radio, telling his team the clutch feels "weird". He describes feeling a vibration.

13:07Here's Hamilton's brush with the run-off. It's got the feel of a practice putting green - maybe the Mercedes man wanted to work on his short game?

13:04We're back to how were about 10 minutes ago, with Lewis Hamilton on top with a 1:13.543. It's an odd few laps for the world champion.
He sets the quickest time, then takes it easy and then locks up and flies into the run-off on turn one.
There are 25 minutes remaining.

13:01Speaking of Nico Rosberg, he could have Rubens Barrichello's lap record in his sights this weekend. These times are under the current layout, before anybody tells me I'm being a plonker.

Chief F1 writer at Interlagos“Red Bull are using here the updated Renault engine that has been promised for some time. Don’t expect a major step forward, though. Daniel Ricciardo says it is worth ‘between one tenth (of a second) and two.
"If they say between one and two tenths it is probably more like a tenth. The plan is for the Australian to use it on Friday and then for the team to make a call on Friday evening on whether to continue with it and/or put it in team-mate Daniil Kvyat’s car for the weekend.”

12:58Maybe it was actually super glue on Nico's car? He's just set the fastest lap at 1:140.090. That puts him ahead of Sebastian Vettel, who had briefly gone top.

12:54Nico Rosberg is back on track and he's doing it with a bit of gloopy liquid on his car nose. It looks like PVA glue - that awesome sticky stuff you used at school - but it's actually so the team can see the air direction on track.
The German is on the radio: "I've got massive understeer."

12:52A couple of decent laps for Kimi Raikkonen and Max Verstappen have moved them to third and fourth respectively. That knocks Sebastian Vettel down to fifth.
Red Bull chief Christian Horner has just been waxing lyrical about Verstappen, suggesting he does not see the Toro Rosso man leaving the Red Bull system.
Red Bull's futurepublished at 12:48
12:48Christian Horner on his team's future in F1 and their ongoing pursuit of a new engine supplier: "We’re homing in on something. Hopefully I’ll be able to tell you something in the not too distant future."
I feel we've heard that same sentence for at least the last five races...
