"If Romain Grosjean has got a flatspot on those tyres it will make it very difficult because the vibrations make your eyeballs bounce about so much in your skull that you can barely see the corners."

    Grojean

Romain Grosjean's tyres received too much damage for the Frenchman to get out of the bottom five.

Felipe Massa puts in a champion lap to sneak into 10th at the final moment.

Romain Grosjean will be out in Q2. He's yet to record a lap and goes spinning - plenty of smoke coming from those tyres. Only seconds left for drivers to make moves.

"Sebastian Vettel's lap looks tidy enough but tentative. It certainly is not as aggressive as we would expect to see from a Vettel completely at one with his car."

Sebastian Vettel is in at P2 with a 1:11.928. Marcus Ericsson, Felipe Nasr, Felipe Massa and Max Verstappen are out of the top 10.

Eleven drivers have set times in Q2. Max Verstappen is the slowest of the bunch and in the drop zone. Both of the Ferraris are making their first Q2 appearance imminently.

"I don't think Rosberg wants to put an extra lap on the set of tyres he will start the race tomorrow. To get through to Q3 we are looking at a 1:12.6."

    Hamilton

Mercedes are straight out there and as soon as Nico Rosberg records a 1:12.213, Lewis Hamilton goes 1:11.665.

Rosberg has a bit of a chat with his team about whether to come into the pits - "box, box, box" is the decision.

The German was not keen to stay out - he seemed worried about wearing down the tyres.

Felipe Nasr could well be punished for getting in the way of Felipe Massa in Q1.

"I can see the two McLaren drivers walking down the pitlane, there was a huge cheer as Fernando Alonso walked back from his sunbathing. I thought it was a Brazilian walking back at first, but it shows the huge passion the fans have for F1."

So, McLaren can put their feet up and go grab a sandwich and a can of fizzy pop - they're done for the weekend.

Felipe Massa almost got stitched up by his countryman Feliper Nasr, who takes an awful line and blocks off the Williams man.

"I know McLaren are down and you don't want to kick someone when they are down but it is just such a waste of talent in those two cars right now. We are being robbed of an opportunity for these two former world champions to show themselves."

While Fernando gets the best view in the house, we've now got times for all the other drivers.

Marcus Ericsson, Jenson Button, Alexander Rossi and Will Stevens are in danger of leaving in Q1.
