BBC Radio 5 live pit-lane reporter"There's a lot of chat about a new halo safety system. If that crash would have happened with the halo attached it would have been very difficult to get Alonso out of the car."

06:09 GMT 20 March 2016Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton is sixth, trying close in on Carlos Sainz, who is half a second down the road. Hamilton's latest lap is two tenths slower than Sainz, though.
Plus there's been a drive through penalty for 14th-place Marcus Ericsson for Sauber 'working on his car in the 15 second signal' before the restart.

Lap 25/57And then there was one.

Yes, Kimi. You're on fire.

Lap 24/57Incredible scenes!
Kimi Raikkonen is trundling slowly into the pitlane, there's smoke coming out of his Ferrari.
"There's something broken in the car," he says.
Then suddenly, fire spurts out of the air box above Raikkonen's head as he stops the car in his box.
What's Raikkonen's reaction? To nonchalantly climb out as marshals rush in to extinguish the fire.

Up ahead, Sebastian Vettel has just clocked a new fastest lap - 1:30.374 - and he has a 1.7s advantage over Nico Rosberg.

05:59 GMT 20 March 2016McLaren-Honda boss Ron Dennis on BBC Radio 5 live: "We haven't spoken to Fernando Alonso but as far as we know he's fine - we're checking him out now.
"You never pre-judge anything after an accident like that, the cars can be incredibly safe. It's a testimony to the safety of F1.
"We think we've made a very good racing car. We're still wresting a bit with engine power. Honda is a good partner and you have to be patient."

Lap 21/57Sebastian Vettel is going to want to get a big advantage built up quickly because he'll have to stop again. If he can't, Nico Rosberg could well be on target to kick off the season with a win.
Long way to go yet though...

05:57 GMT 20 March 2016"How do I turn the alarm off," asks Lewis Hamilton.
"I'm afraid I'm not allowed to say," is the reply.
That would be annoying, an alarm ringing for 37 laps...

05:51 GMT 20 March 2016The final few bits of debris are being picked up by the marshals. Just seeing the speed that Fernando Alonso flew into the barrier is frightening. Amazing, and brilliant, that Alonso was able to walk away from that.
