F1 journalist Dan Knutson in Barcelona: "Lewis Hamilton barely made it 50 yards down pit lane before his Mercedes came to a halt. He travelled a lot further over the weekend, jetting out to Hollywood to hang out with film stars at a pre-Oscar bash."
A second attempt to get out on the circuit is successful and Lewis Hamilton enjoys his first run out under the Spanish sun this week.
I'd imagine that wasn't part of the plan.
Still, it is probably good that Mercedes have had an issue in testing. Don't think I'd have fancied the first problems of 2016 happening during the season itself.
Lewis Hamilton is joining the fun!
Wait, hang on. No he isn't.
The Mercedes has come to a stop in the pitlane and cue a rush of mechanics to get to Hamilton and wheel him back.

Rio Haryanto spent much of this morning deciding whether to go with or without his beanie as his Manor was in the garage for much of the session because of an oil leak.
Pleasingly, he is back out now and becomes the 11th driver to put in a timed lap today, kicking off with a 1:31.605.
That leaves just Lewis Hamilton to get up and running.
Slowly but surely things are starting to happen in Barcelons as Nico Hulkenberg joins Valtteri Bottas out on the track.
Lewis Hamilton appears in no rush to get going. In contrast, Nico Rosberg was one of the first out this morning.

Finally movement as Valtteri Bottas makes the first move and heads out on to the circuit.

All eyes will be on what's happening at McLaren.
It was almost the perfect morning - plenty of laps logged, third fastest time clocked but then Fernando Alonso came to a stop on the track seconds before lunchtime.
Not had any word on what happened, will Alonso be back out this afternoon? We wait and see.
The circuit is open!
No-one is in a rush to get back out though.
Probably still enjoying a Gerhard burger...
