Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez are well into their long runs at the moment. Most drivers are on super softs but they have opted for softs.

Lewis Hamilton is onto his ninth lap on super softs with half an hour of the session remaining.

Valtteri Bottas is currently 10th quickest, with Felipe Massa 14th.

Tom Clarkson spoke to Williams' head of performance engineering Rob Smedley a little earlier about Massa's tyre failure in first practice. Here's what he had to say.

“We’re fairly confident we know what it is. I don’t want to go into a huge amount of detail. It is not a manufacturer problem and it certainly doesn’t appear to be a tyre problem. We have some containment in place and we’re fairly confident it should be OK.”

Meanwhile, while the rest of the drivers are getting ready for long runs, Sebastian Vettel is out with the super softs on. It's time for a quali run.

Kimi Raikkonen has got his wish because he has been rescued from his long-run woes and is currently being wheeled back into his garage. We're still waiting for Ferrari to show what they can do on the super softs in this session.

So far so good for Felipe Massa after his first practice troubles. He currently has the seventh quickest time, but hello McLaren. Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button are currently fourth and fifth quickest respectively. Alonso's super soft run (1:38.728) is 1.5s off Nico Rosberg's benchmark time.

Lewis Hamilton is fastest of all through the middle sector but his final sector lets him down and he can only go second quickest, two tenths slower than Nico Rosberg.

If Nico Rosberg wins Sunday's race, he will become only the fourth driver to win six races in a row. 

The others are Sebastian Vettel (nine), Alberto Ascari (seven) and Michael Schumacher (seven).

Nico Rosberg's first time on the super soft tyres is a 1:37.133. That's only a few tenths of a second quicker than his time on the softs. Lewis Hamilton is coming round now on his super soft run.
