More on that when we get it.
Daniil Kvyat, on his home track, sends round the Red Bull for a P8.
Valtteri Bottas goes into P3 but it's brief, as Sebastian Vettel usurps him and then Kimi Raikkonen takes third off his team-mate.

“That is the quickest time of the weekend from Rosberg. Four-tenths quicker than Hamilton.”
Bosh. Nico Rosberg fancies another lap and it's four tenths quicker than Lewis Hamilton.
The Mercedes are out on their own..

“I’m excited about this. Mercedes are right on the pace. I think we’ll see some really fast lap times when we get through to Q3.”
So the Mercedes going about two seconds quicker than the Force India? Ominous.
Kevin Magnussen in the Renault has a wobble with a bit of oversteer.
Nice to see Jolyon Palmer up in P6 at the moment.
It's Nico Rosberg across the line first and he goes 1:36.684.
Lewis Hamilton slashes a tenth of a second off that to make this a safe Q1 for the Mercedes pair.
Nico Hulkenberg goes top with 1:38.562, followed by Esteban Guttierez.
Both of the Mercedes are about to register a first lap...

“There are two main challenges for the drivers. Getting daylight on the track and getting heat in those tyres. It is 10C cooler than yesterday.”
Felipe Nasr is taking his brand spanking new Sauber chassis for a spin and will set the first time - it's 1:39.549.
Q1 under way
And we're go go go.
You'd be forgiven for forgetting how qualifying works, with Uncle Bernie's brainstorming causing all kind of confusion.
We're sticking with the tried and trusted three-session affair:
· Q1: Lasts for 18 minutes with the six slowest drivers eliminated at the end.
· Q2: The 16 remaining cars run in a 15-minute session, at the end of which the slowest six are eliminated from qualifying, leaving 10 to progress to Q3.
· Q3: The top 10 shoot-out. A 12-minute session takes place to decide the pole position and the starting order for the top ten grid places.

Did not expect Selena Gomez to pop up...
A reminder that Sebastian Vettel cannot qualify any higher than sixth, after being hit with a five-place grid penalty for taking on a new gearbox.
He'd need to finish qualifying on top, of course, to be sixth. So if we assume we're going to get a Mercedes qualifying one-two, eighth is as good as he can hope for.

It looks like we could be in for quick times on this Sochi track during qualifying.
Nico Rosberg took pole with a 1:37.113 last year - Lewis Hamilton has already clocked 1:36.403 in today's final practice session.

I just had to explain what a mix-tape was to a colleague. What a sheltered childhood he had...
If (when?) Mercedes take pole in qualifying today, the team will draw level with Red Bull for poles.
Would anyone bet against Lewis Hamilton or Nico Rosberg tie-ing up the scores?
