Vettel fastest in first practice

Four minutes left and It looks like Sebastian Vettel is going to finish with the fastest time of the day.
The results of our vote are in, by the way, and it was pretty close. We asked were Red Bull right to swap Daniil Kvyat and Max Verstappen? 46% said yes, with 54% saying no.

What is it about Felipe Massa and Turn 5? After spinning there earlier in the session, he's just had another moment at the same spot.
It is all going tickety-boo for Fernando Alonso so far, he's P10 at the moment. Not so good for Jenson Button, however, who is P19 and having steering issues.
Sergio Perez hasn't been out since his Force India was spluttering smoke fairly early in the session, but there's good news courtesy of Jennie Gow. It sounds like they are shaping up for getting him back out.

After just six laps, Esteban Ocon's time in the Renault is over. The team confirm his car "has an issue" and he won't be getting back out.
Sebastian Vettel has a fresh set of softs on and he's flying, putting down a 1:23.951 to go fastest of all. It's a Ferrari one-two at the moment. Interestingly, they are the only drivers to give the softs a run in this session.
Lewis Hamilton is checking out the limits of the track as he has a little off at Turn 1. Second time he has done that there in this session.

Max Verstappen has clearly overcome his acceleration troubles from earlier. He's just gone fifth fastest with 1:25.585.
That puts him best of the rest, behind Mercedes and Ferrari. So far so good for the teenager!
An improvement for Lewis Hamilton as he nips ahead of Sebastian Vettel and into P3 with 1:24.611.
Nico Hulkenberg has the orange-walled hard tyres on as he re-emerges on the track. Almost everyone else is on mediums apart from the Ferrari duo, who are on softs.
