Kevin Magnussen plants the front of his Renault straight into a barrier at the final corner. He's OK, but the car most certainly is not. That's his session over and more work for Renault.
Ricciardo fastest in second practice, Hamilton 2nd, Rosberg 3rd, Verstappen 4th
Vettel & Grosjean hit barrier, Haryanto & Magnussen crash out

Great spot! I was humming that very tune as that conversation was going on.
Renault have managed to get Jolyon Palmer back out and he's got half-an-hour to make up for lost time.
Lewis Hamilton is back in the Mercedes garage and checking through some data. Nico Rosberg is still out there, though, as we approach long runs territory.
Everyone has set a lap time apart from Jolyon Palmer, who crashed his Renault in first practice. With 40 minutes remaining, will he get back out?

The top three times, all set on the ultra softs. So far so good for Red Bull...
A mistake by Sebastian Vettel. He locks up the left front at Mirabeau and clips the barrier with his rear wing. He manages to get the damaged Ferrari back to the pits.
Now then. Daniel Ricciardo is purple purple through the first two sectors. He is absolutely flying and...he goes even quicker! Improving his pace-setting time to 1:14.607.
Early doors, but could Red Bull take the challenge to Mercedes this weekend? Looking good so far.
Here comes Lewis Hamilton now on the ultra softs. What's he got in the bag and can he reclaim P1 from Daniel Riccairdo? No is the answer to that as he is round in 1:15.213, two tenths slower than Ricciardo and remains second.
Kimi Raikkonen goes straight on at Ste Devote and into the run off. He's on the ultra softs and currently seventh fastest.

It is already widely considered likely that Stoffel Vandoorne will replace Jenson Button at McLaren next season, and today chairman Ron Dennis has added further evidence to that belief, saying no other team would be allowed to snatch the Belgian from his grasp.
‘Stoffel is an extremely talented, intelligent and hard-working young driver, with an enormous amount of potential, and who importantly knows how to win,’ Dennis said. ‘As such, he’s an integral part of McLaren-Honda's future, and any other team that imagines they may be able to poach him away from us is very much mistaken. As regards our 2017 driver line-up, we aren't yet ready to commit or communicate, but you may rest assured that Stoffel is not for sale.’
Button is being heavily linked with a move to Williams should McLaren dispense with him.

After the drain cover came off in first practice, this could be a practical choice.
Lots more flashes of purple in Monaco as drivers slap on some ultra softs. Nico Rosberg is one them.
We've not seen a fast lap from Sebastian Vettel in this session, with the Ferrari man rattling off a few laps on the super softs. He's on 17 and counting.
