    That's the Monaco effect.

“The contrast between the demeanour of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg was striking on Wednesday in Monaco. The subject of their first-lap crash in Spain was obviously item number one on the agenda and Rosberg was first up, in the official news conference. He decided to stone-wall it. It’s over, we’ve moved on, I’m not thinking about it, was his response, to repeated questioning.  He would not even say whether the two of them had talked about it. Hamilton took a very different approach. Much more relaxed and open. Yes, they had talked about it, he said. Everything was fine. Respect was the key, and it was still there. We’re older and wiser than at similar times in the past. Whether it said anything about their relative states of mind ahead of this crucial weekend is a different matter, but it was fascinating nonetheless.”

Hello and welcome to practice for the Monaco Grand Prix.

It's time to ramp up jealously levels to 11 because no other setting for a Formula 1 race can boast the same level of glitz and glamour as Monte Carlo.

Fancy parties and celeb spotting will be far from the minds of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, however, with both very much focused on getting back to winning ways.

    All's well that ends well?

Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg's first-lap collision in Barcelona a couple of weeks ago threatened to reignite the tension between the two, but anyone expecting fireworks will have been disappointed.

Their reaction to the incident has all been very civil, with Hamilton this week insisting that it is "all in the past" and there's nothing but "pure respect" between the two.

But do we believe them? We shall see...
