The light grey skies of Friday are gone, to be replaced by big and blue, but the City of Winds is living up to its name as the clock ticks down towards the start of final practice.

Lewis Hamilton was in a class of his own on Friday, adapting quicker to the Baku street track than team-mate Nico Rosberg, and keeping that advantage all day.

Mercedes-powered cars filled the top five, and Ferrari and Red Bull were at sea. Can they sort themselves out before qualifying?

Astronaut Tim Peake has returned to Earth after a historic six-month stay on the International Space Station, landing in Kazakhstan at 10:15 BST.

Sadly, no sign of him in the blue skies of Baku...

When it emerged after first practice on Friday that the kerbs were cutting the tyres, there was a brief worry that second practice would have to be postponed or even cancelled. But some hasty remedial work pretty much solved the problem, and more work has taken place overnight.

The exit kerb at Turn Six, which was the main problem, has been removed, and there have also been some changes made to the pit-lane entry, to ease the concern of some drivers that if they got it wrong, there could be a "monumental accident", as Nico Rosberg put it. The pit-lane entry line has been extended and moved to the left.

After the drivers' briefing on Friday evening, changes have been made to the circuit.

Several kerbs on the new track came loose in first practice, cutting the tyres of most cars, most notably at Turn Six.

The kerb there, which failed during the second session, has been removed overnight and replaced with paint.

  6. Hamilton & Rosberg in disagreement shockerpublished at 10:38

Well, we all got acquainted with the Baku circuit on Friday as it makes its F1 debut and the reviews were generally favourable.

But there wasn't consensus among the drivers.

Hamilton declared himself "well happy" with the track, while Rosberg, although positive overall, said "there are a few spaces that are a bit too risky".

The Briton wasn't impressed by complaints about the circuit, adding: "One thing for sure, these drivers they moan so much about so many things. I guarantee you."

    Whoever could he mean?

  7. Red Bull & Ferrari with much to dopublished at 10:34

Hamilton was seven-tenths of a second clear of championship leader Rosberg on Friday and over a second clear of the third-placed Force India of Sergio Perez in FP2, with Valtteri Bottas, Nico Hulkenberg and Carlos Sainz the next best in that session.

What of Red Bull and Ferrari?

Well, they appear to have much to do. Red Bull's Max Verstappen was seventh with Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel eighth, nearly two seconds off the Briton's pace.

Can they at least keep the Mercedes honest as we prepare for qualifying?

  8. Can anyone challenge Hamilton?published at 10:30

Coming in off two consecutive wins and fastest in both Friday practice sessions, Lewis Hamilton has looked imperious so far in Baku.

Can anyone - and, in particular, Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg - challenge him at the European Grand Prix?

Let's get set for free practice three and find out...
