Sebastian Vettel has taken his time to switch to super softs, but he is out on the red walled tyres now and goes third quickest with his latest effort a 1:21.348. That puts him 0.3s behind Daniel Ricciardo and 0.9s behind pacesetter Nico Rosberg.
Fernando Alonso currently has the 16th quickest time but he's not out on the track at the moment. There's an issue with his McLaren with the floor having been taken off.
Carlos Sainz, currently 10th quickest, is under investigation for crossing the line at the pit entry.
Meanwhile, it's not been a great day for Jolyon Palmer. He's currently sat in the Renault garage, having managed just two laps and no time.
Max Verstappen goes third quickest but is way off the pace of his Red Bull team-mate, clocking 1:21.770.
A scrappy run through the first sector from Daniel Ricciardo but he's fastest of all through the second. Can he move into P1? Nope, he goes second quickest with 1:21.030, six tenths of a second down on Nico Rosberg's time.
Testing fans (who isn't?) will remember our #thingskimifindsok hashtag and here's a great blast from the past from Chris.
Finally the Red Bulls are out on the supersofts.
Let's see what they've got.
Romain Grosjean ain't happy with his brakes.
He fumes over the radio: "Guys there's been a problem on the brakes, problem on the brakes, problem on the brake."
"Understood."
"I am really fed up with the brakes."
Lewis Hamilton for PM? Jenson Button the secretary of being generally awesome? What roles would F1 personalities past and present have in your F1 government, and why?
By the way, how young do these two look? It was only 2011!

An absolute given.
There's plenty of drivers strapping on those red boots now. Pretty much everyone except for the two Red Bulls. Cards remaining firmly close to the chest.

Interestingly, right now, fastest speed at the finish line is, er, ALO. Suggests strong speed off the final corner.
...and there he goes. A 1:20.435 puts him into P1 and 1.5s quicker than Lewis Hamilton. We are firmly into qualifying sims now and that's a very good lap from Rosberg.
Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton's team-mate has the super softs on, so expect him to go top of the timesheet any minute now...

Before everyone starts jumping on 'oh gearbox problems' it is a Friday gearbox, so they would have replaced it anyway going into tomorrow.
Maybe keep that tape on then, Rio.
