That contract signing video is up there, but can you remember any other particularly cringey or awkward moments in F1? Russian President Vladimir Putin's fist pump attempt with Lewis Hamilton last year?

If you are partial to a bit of cheese with your toast for breakfast this morning, then it is in abundance in the video I mentioned in my opening entry of Nico Rosberg signing his contract, which you can watch by clicking on the below link.

  6. 'Scary for Mercedes rivals'published at 09:48 British Summer Time 23 July 2016

How big was Mercedes’ advantage over the rest of the field on Friday? Well, as if it was not bad enough, the 0.595 seconds advantage with which Nico Rosberg ended the session over Daniel Ricciardo might actually have underplayed it.

The race simulation runs in the second half of the session painted an even scarier picture. Rosberg was 0.8secs clear of anyone else on the super-soft tyre and a second on the soft, which is likely to be the preferred race tyre. It’s surely adios. Or viszontlátásra, as they say here.

The talk before Hungary was all about whether Red Bull could challenge Mercedes for the win around a track that in theory should have suited their car - just as they had in Monaco. Not any more.

Mercedes’ Friday showing was as formidable as any this year - with the possible exception of Baku. The silver cars look as if they are in a league of their own.

The question now is whether Lewis Hamilton’s crash early in second practice will affect his preparations for qualifying. He doesn’t sound too worried but he is keen to get on with gaining experience in this first session.

Hello! Welcome along to our coverage of qualifying day for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Nico Rosberg underlined Mercedes' pace in second practice yesterday as he finished 0.595secs quicker than Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo in second.

Ferrari, meanwhile, struggled, with Sebastian Vettel 0.327secs back, 0.322secs ahead of Red Bull's Max Verstappen.

Will Mercedes' rivals step up the challenge today?

As days go, yesterday was a pretty good one for Nico Rosberg.

He finished fastest in practice, signed a new deal at Mercedes and got to star in not just one cheesy contract signing video, but two cheesy contract signing videos.

Oh, and Lewis Hamilton also crashed out early doors in second practice. All in all, a good day for the German.

However, Rosberg knows well enough that nothing is won on the Friday...
