"It is like a boat. We are waiting for a crash to happen like this."

Verstappen is struggling on his inters behind the safety car. He's in for full wet boots.

He's back out in 16th place. Should be worth watching.

  5. Amazing reception for Massapublished at 18:42 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2016

These are really lovely scenes. He's walking back to the pits draped in the Brazilian flag, waving to the crowd and wiping away tears. Marshals are in tears too.

And now something I've never seen - he's walking down the pit lane and getting applauded by all the mechanics of rival teams.

His wife and young son head down the pits to hug him and now the tears really come for Massa.

What a moment for one of F1's good guys.

A reminder that we won't be going to the full 71 laps in this race.

All the gaps have been wiped out and we're running in the following order behind the safety car: 1 Hamilton; 2 Rosberg; 3 Perez; 4 Sainz; 5 Verstappen; 6 Vettel; 7 Nasr; 8 Alonso: 9 Hulkenberg; 10 Ricciardo

I am very disappointed for Felipe Massa, and it is was very sportsman-like to step out of the car and immediately think of the crowd by waving to them. There is a lot of heavy damage to his car.

  11. Massa out - safety car outpublished at 18:32 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2016

What a shame. Felipe Massa's final home race ends in disappointment,

The Williams driver becomes the latest man to lose his car on the run to the pit straight.

He gets out and waves to the crowd but he looks crestfallen to make an early exit from a race he won in 2006 and 2008, and where he came so close to winning a world title eight years ago.

Safe to say the Interlagos crowd loves him.

  12. Big moment for Rosbergpublished at 18:32 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2016

Rosberg has also had a half-spin out there. Nowhere near the majesty of Verstappen's but a hugely, hugely scary moment for the title leader.

He lost it through Juncao but gathered it up and drove on. That probably explains away some of that gap to Hamilton.

  13. Team radio - Jenson Buttonpublished at 18:30 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2016

"I can not drive in the last few corners with this (intermediate) tyre, I will have to come in."

Button is then told other drivers are still on intermediates, and the Briton replies: "I don't care."

Lewis Hamilton is really putting Nico Rosberg in his place in these conditions.

He's now 18 seconds clear of his team-mate.

Austin Hall: Incredible driving from Max. What a save! Keep Rosberg away from Hamilton!

Edward Taylor: How has Verstappen not stacked it in the wall. Amazing driving. Wow! Wow! Wow! The boy has talent.

Mike Heal: He's a lucky boy there Max but goodness me he's a talented young man. That move earlier was a karters move.

  19. Vettel forces Alonso off trackpublished at 18:26 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2016

We've got a great scrap going on for seventh place between McLaren's Fernando Alonso and the Ferrari of Sebastian Vettel.

It all gets a bit rude at turn 11 as the Ferrari man forced the Spaniard off.

Will the race stewards look at that?
