17:56 GMT 13 November 2016Lee Rowlett: The FIA are ruining F1. Too many rules, so conservative on safety, and the cars are rubbish to drive and watch.
Bishop Yinkus: Absolutely shock decision from Charlie Whitting, we are here to race not circus show so why stopping the race?
Mike Heal: For me, this suggests that the FIA are still cautious about wet weather driving following Bianchi incident.

'A bad day for Formula 1'published at 17:56 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2016

Romain Grosjean, who crashed out before the race even started, tells BBC Radio 5 live: "The conditions were not that bad, I still don't know what happened. I have seen a few more incidents and that makes you feel better.
"I am sorry for the guys, we didn't deserve that. For the fans it is embarrassing that it is not going, on, so it is a bad day for Formula 1. Right now, you lose the car in a straight line and there is no grip For Kimi that could have been a horrible incident.
"It is not raining heavily, so it (a restart) could be possible. I want to see the show, I want to see the race."
On Kevin Magnussen, who will be Grosjean's team-mate at Haas next year, the Frenchman adds: "It is great to have Kevin. He knows how to race, hopefully next year we can score a lot of points for the team. It is a big task, but I'm confident we can have a good year."

'Visibility was impossible'published at 17:55 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2016

British driver Jolyon Palmer's race is over and he tells BBC Radio 5 live: "We had some damage after the restart when Kimi lost it. Kvyat could not see me and we had a touch and that was it. It is really slippy coming up the hill at turn 12. On the full wets it was not too bad, but with the intermediates, no.
"From where I was, the visibility was impossible, you just can't see anything. It is bad, but it is just the standing water. Kimi lost it on full wets in a straight line."
Asked about signing a new deal that keeps him with Renault next year, Palmer adds: "I'm really happy about that, we've been doing well. Yesterday it was a solid job and it was just a shame for today."

BBC Radio 5 live commentatorThis rain is heavier than it has been at any point this afternoon so we are not going to be back racing any time soon. It is not cold but wet, very wet.

17:47 GMT 13 November 2016Reece Young: Way too cautious. Remember Malaysia a few years ago. Much worse and produced wonderful racing. Ruining what could have been great.
Jos Sentjens: F1 come on! F1 almost never races on full wets. Change the cars/rules to make racing happen. This is a joke!
Jack Simpson: Why are we not racing? We've seen worse conditions then this.

BBC Radio 5 live Formula 1 analystA decision like this will involve lots of pieces of information. Charlie Whiting will be speaking to lots of teams, lots of drivers and look to see what the weather is actually doing.
All that information gets fed back and the decision has been taken to stop the race. I feel very sorry for the fans. They have obviously paid a lot of money to see the Brazilian Grand Prix and they are not seeing racing.
The drivers do want to race, but today it is a disjointed affair for them and the teams.

17:40 GMT 13 November 2016This crowd is very hacked off now.
In fairness, race director Charlie Whiting has been doing this a long time and knows what he's doing. He also has all the information at his finger tips - including the very latest weather forecast.

17:34 GMT 13 November 2016In all of the excitement of Raikkonen's crash it seems everyone missed not only Verstappen's moment, but also a big tangle with Jolyon Palmer's Renault and Daniil Kvyat's Toro Rosso at more or less the same moment.
We've just seen a replay of the tangle and it was quite a thump between the two cars amid the spray.
It's proved terminal for Palmer, who has not taken the restart. Kvyat is still out there and running 18th and last.
