That cost Max Verstappen three seconds, it also caused him quite a big heart flutter and I have no idea how he kept that Red Bull out of the barrier.

That was one of the most spectacular things you will ever see. That spin is a warning to everyone out there.

  3. Verstappen holds amazing half-spinpublished at 18:20 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2016

Verstappen had a ludicrous moment there. He lost it on the pit straight after touching the white line, slid sideways down the track at 190mph and just avoided the barriers.

To add to the barely-believable nature of the incident, he recovers and STILL manages to beat third-placed Rosberg into the first corner.

"He's box office," exclaims Jack Nicholls on 5 live.

    Yes. Yes he is.

Hamilton has eked out at two-second lead over Verstappen.

At this stage Rosberg has no answer. He's 5.5secs behind Hamilton.

"Tell us about the conditions," Renault ask Kevin Magnussen, who is in no mood for a chat.

"Just leave me alone," replies the Dane.

The onboard shots of the drivers blasting down the pit straight really are eyebrow-raising.

It's clearly frustrating not to see these guys racing but pictures like that emphasize just how dangerous it is.

Liam Gregory: Sensational overtake from Max! Long as it stays like this in the top three, its looking better for Lewis.

Stuart Mitchell: GET IN MAX VERSTAPPEN! Rosberg down to 3rd. C'mon Hamilton bring this home now.

Fine driving from Max Verstappen. He had an opportunity, went round the outside and he positioned the car on the outside.

  13. Verstappen up to secondpublished at 18:10 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2016

A big moment in the title race?

Rosberg is slow through the Senna S and third-placed Verstappen takes full advantage.

The Dutchman sweeps past the Mercedes on the outside of the corner and into second place.

Get in there Maxy!" comes the message from the pit wall.

Hamilton leads, Verstappen P2 and then comes Rosberg.

  19. 'Worst decision ever seen'published at 18:01 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2016

    BBC Radio 5 live

Some very strong words from Niki Lauda, non-executive chairman of Mercedes. He is furious with the decision to stop the race and tells BBC Radio 5 live: "Lewis said why don't we start racing, and get on with the programme?

"This was the worst decision I have ever seen. It was the wrong decision. I don't understand it anymore. Formula 1 is over regulated, you have rules on how we overtake, how we do things and this is the wrong decision.

"Are the conditions good enough to race? Yes. Half the field says 'yes' the drivers want to race. We raced in any conditions in my days and it is good to remember that.

"Do we want to stop and go home? Do we want to just reduce the speed when it is wet, we have to find a way. It is sunny, I hope there will be a race which can run to the end because the rain is coming again later."
