Lewis Hamilton says his rear tryes are taking a hard time.

The outer edge has blisters all over it from over-heating. Hamilton is struggling in that respect.

But I think a lot of people are struggling with their tyres. I think we might see different strategies coming up now.

There's something wonderful about hearing Kimi Raikkonen's high-pitched tone when something not going right.

In the last race, it was a steering wheel that was causing him frustrating and today it is a setting that he insists he has done, but his racer engineer says other wise.

    Allan McNish
BBC Radio 5 live Formula 1 analyst

The start reaction time was 0.2 seconds for Bottas and Vettel was 0.369.

But as yet, we've had no further conclusion.

You do anticipate the start, you look at the races before and you get a bit of a feel for it.

Bottas was right on the cusp.

Fastest lap of the race so far by Valtteri Bottas - a 1:09. That's a whole six tenths quicker than Sebastian Vettel's latest lap.

Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton is creeping up on Kimi Raikkonen. So far so good for the Briton.

It wasn't just Sebastian Vettel who reported Valtteri Bottas' potential jump start, for anyone thinking Vettel may just be being a bit whiny. Daniel Ricciardo also reported it.

Bottas continues to go about his business. He's 4.6 seconds ahead of Vettel.

Luper Daniel Saror: This would make it 7 retirements for #MadMax, external now. Truly heart wrenching.

Reece Young: Looked like a jump start to me...nobody can react that quickly.

Right. Let's catch up with how things look after all that drama.

Interesting. For now, Bottas is sailing away out in front. He is five seconds clear of Sebastian Vettel.

A view of the startImage source, AFP

I do think Sebastian Vettel was a bit tardy in getting away which made Bottas' start look worse than it really was.

  19. Postpublished at Lap 3/71

Disaster for Max Verstappen, who retires from a race one again. Glum faces in the stands. Verstappen has huge support here. Fernando Alonso also retires.

He was tremendously unfortunate as he got tagged by Daniil Kvyat and could do nothing as he sailed into Verstappen.

Sebastian Vettel is on the radio because he thinks Valtteri Bottas jumped the start. Watching a replay, I'm not so sure.
