Well that was pretty entertaining fare. Cars with technical issues, cars sailing off track in the shadow of the brooding Styrian Alps. It was all going on.

Lewis Hamilton will be satisfied to top both sessions but it was anything but a trouble-free day for the Mercedes man, who reported power issues in that second session that did not appear to be resolved.

The results are in an it's a fairly emphatic outcome. You guys have voted by a margin of 80% to 20% that Sebastian Vettel should have been disqualified for his Baku antics.

But he wasn't. So we all move on with our lives.

Personally, I want to see more of drivers showing some raw emotion, not less.

Like so many before him, Fernando Alonso sails off the track at Turn Six. It looks like he has it gathered up but then he goes and has a secondary spin close to Turn Seven.

No, not a quote from the original Batman series. It's an actual flaming Toro Rosso - Daniil Kvyat's to be precise. It looks like the brakes have burst into flames after making a smoky entry to the pit lane.

Our very own Jack Nicholls has been getting misty-eyed about the fact Mercedes changed Hamilton's spark plugs.

"It's just cool, innit? Retro," says a delighted Nicholls, reclining in his wingback and smoking a pipe.

"Something doesn't feel right, Bonno," Hamilton adds.

Back in the garage, Hamilton says: "You need to take out the whole of the front wing."

"I still have the issues with power," says Lewis Hamilton after rejoining, resplendent with new spark plugs.
