Vote: Should Sebastian Vettel have been disqualified in Azerbaijan?published at 09:40 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

While Silverstone and Kubica are good stories, there's really still only one headline dominating F1 this weekend - that collision between Vettel and Hamilton in Baku.

Earlier this week we learned that Vettel would face no further punishment beyond that imposed on him during the race in Azerbaijan - but do you agree?

Our vote today is a simple one: Should Vettel have been disqualified in Azerbaijan?

We'll bring you the result after 14:00 BST.

Another driver off track. Max Versappen takes a trip through the gravel at Turn Seven.

"I slightly clipped the wall," Verstappen tells his team, who advises the Dutchman to get back to the pits for some checks.

All the drivers bar Raikkonen have posted a time now.

Lewis Hamilton is quickest on a 1.06.526, using the ultrasoft tyre. Sebatian Vettel, on the supersoft, is three tenths back.

Then it's Bottas, Verstappen, Kvyat, Ricciardo, Alonso and Massa.

Lance Stroll also brings out the yellows with a high-speed spin into Turn Nine.

We then saw a couple of replays showing Valtteri Bottas, Roman Grosjean and Max Verstappen running off the road at Turn One.

It's slippery and tricky out there and the drivers are clearly still finding the limits.

"No damage, just a spin. I clipped the inside kerb and lost the rear," Vettel tells his team over the radio.

Another spinning Ferrari! Sebastian Vettel emulates his team-mate with a spin at Turn One.

The German lets his scarlet motor roll backwards down the hill for a few hundred yards before righting his car and getting off on his way again.

The replay shows that it was actually a very smart move to keep rolling away from the corner, as the following cars bearing down on his had very little reaction time to jink around him as they exited the turn.

If the competition at the front between two teams is getting tasty, the same can be said of that within one team at Force India. Two weeks on from the crash that cost Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon a possible double podium finish in Baku, Perez, claiming Ocon moved over on him as he was stuck against the wall on the exit of Turn Two, has been saying: “I expect him to be intelligent enough to understand what he did wrong and change a bit his attitude for the benefit of the team.”

    Ouch.

Ocon, though, seems non-plussed. “After the race I took a plane to go to Silverstone to review [the incident] with the team. They prepared some notes with what they thought and we came to the conclusion that it was a 50/50. It was not only my fault, not only Sergio's fault but it was both of our fault. There were things he did that were not right, there are things I did which were not right so overall it makes it a race incident and 50/50.”

We have a Ferrari off track and facing the wrong way at Turn One.

Kimi Raikkonen is the man looking backwards down the track. He's badly flat-spotted his tyres and retreats straight back to the pits for fresh boots.

This is promising to be a particularly interesting driver market ‘silly-season’, with a number of big seats potentially up for grabs and big-name drivers in the mix - including Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Raikkonen and Valtteri Bottas, whose contracts all expire this year.

That leaves three seats available at the best two teams, even if Vettel and Bottas, at least, are highly likely to stay where they are, and Raikkonen may yet, too.

Red Bull insist neither of their drivers can move, but that isn’t stopping both Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen coming up in conversation, too. Another man being talked about is Carlos Sainz, who admits a fourth year at junior team Toro Rosso is “unlikely” and is of interest to both McLaren and Renault.

Sainz said: “My target number one is to be with Red Bull next year and start fighting for podiums, wins or whatever they are fighting for next year. I’m going to keep pushing for this. If that doesn’t happen, I’m not going to close the door to any opportunity. I’m definitely ready to take a step forward in my career - I’m ready. I’m not closing any doors. We’ll see what happens.”

Your thoughts on Vettel/Hamilton, Silverstone and Kubia

Oliver George‏ , externalSilverstone are only invoking their clause to renegotiate. Liberty won't let it go. Major hopes for Kubica but think 2018 too early.

Andrew Canham‏, external shame we are losing Silverstone. Can't see them negotiating a new deal.

James Williamson‏, external Lewis and Seb can downplay it publically but it'll be interesting to see what happens next time they're wheel to wheel

Not many actual times posted so far. Indeed you can count the drivers who have done so on one finger.

His name is Max Verstappen. He drives a Red Bull. He's done a 1:08.429.

    Thank you and goodnight.
