GG Baxter: Served Jackie Stewart at the BRDC, caught me watching TV against bosses wishes, Overruled him let me watch ENGvsSWE from the corner.
Lewis Hamilton has just set a new track record with a lap of 1:34.478, beating his previous record at the Circuit of the Americas, which was set yesterday with an effort of 1:34.668.
It came seconds after Vettel had beaten Hamilton's time yesterday.
Hamilton is now 0.092 seconds ahead of the German. This could well be a fascinating qualifying session later on today.
That's the end of the virtual safety car done with after Romain Grosjean met the gravel, so expect a few changes late on with 20 minutes left of this session.
Most of the garages are empty, ultra-soft remains the tyre of choice for the masses.

Amit Mandalia: I have to say, the thing I’m most fascinated by for the remainder of the season is Sainz v Hulkenberg at Renault.
Sainz is eighth fastest and Hulkenberg 12th fastest so far today.
The top 10...

Jeremiah Kariuki: Romain Grosjean is having a wheel spinning and swearing session in the gravel!
Kayleigh: Grosjean trying to get stuck in the gravel trap for every race for the rest of the season!
We hear from Max Verstappen after his recent spin. "An unexpected slide, a massive loss of rear grip, also the tyres were really cold in turn one," says the Red Bull man, who yesterday signed a new deal to keep him with the team until 2020.
Bad news for Grosjean, who is wedged in the gravel and he won't be going anywhere for a while. It has been a weekend to forget so far for Haas in their home grand prix. We are now under a virtual safety car.
We hear from the team radio. Let's just say he's not too chuffed.
It came after Red Bull's Max Verstappen spun at the same corner, although the Dutchman was able to get the car back on the track.
That will be the end for Grosjean in this practice session, who trudges back, unhurt, back to the garage.

"Something wrong with the car guys, I had a suspicion at the end of the second lap," says a worried Daniil Kvyat, who is unhappy with the car's steering.
Not what he needs in what could be a make-or-break weekend in his Formula 1 career.
Of the laps the Toro Rosso driver has completed, he is only 16th quickest.
If you take out Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari, Fernando Alonso was the best of the rest in session two, and that is his position again today as he is sixth, with Max Verstappen only having done a few laps.
No rain clouds in sight for today's practice and qualifying sessions at the Circuit of the Americas.
All change at the top. Lewis Hamilton, leading Sebastian Vettel, with Valtteri Bottas up to third to demote Kimi Raikkonen to fourth.
Hamilton's time is 1:35.125, but there is still time to shave off as his best effort yesterday was an effort of 1:34.668. But yet another ominous sign for his competition.

New engine and MGU-H for Verstappen - grid penalty looming.
By the way, the ultra-softs, which saw the most success yesterday, are the tyre of choice again for the fastest drivers so far.
The tyres have changed colour from normal as they are pink for this race, instead of the usual purple, to highlight Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Now the big names are getting going. Kimi Raikkonen jumps to the top with a lap of 1:35.562, Valtteri Bottas is second and Lewis Hamilton third.
Early signs of a better day for Ferrari already?

Brendon Hartley is one of the first drivers out today, opting for the super-softs with some others on the ultra-softs.
Hartley is the first Formula 1 driver from New Zealand in 33 years (since Mike Thackwell in 1984) and to celebrate, here is a giant New Zealand flag for you.

Remember, qualifying gets going at 22:00 BST.
And we are under way. One hour of final practice. Stoffel Vandoorne of McLaren is one of the first to get going.
