We said Stoffel Vandoorne is getting a 35-place grid penalty this weekend.

This incredible graphic shows just what McLaren have had to change on his car this season.

The blue zone is the part which is permitted, without penalties. A tough campaign for him and the team.

Who is your favourite Formula 1 driver?

Nurdrasch: Jackie Stewart - supreme on the track, and had more influence on motor-racing (track/driver safety) than any other driver

Arvind Mohanraj: Mika Hakkinen for pulling off what I consider to be the greatest overtaking maneuver in f1 on schumi...followed closely by Alonso.

Christian Ryan: Gilles Villeneuve. He's the most important F1 figure in Canada and one of our most important sporting figures, period.

"Engine made a strange sound at the apex of turn five," says Brendon Hartley to his Toro Rosso team.

We had Red Bull's Max Verstappen complaining of a 'weird' engine earlier on.

We haven't mentioned Lance Stroll for a while and he runs a bit wild, a bit wide. With 27 minutes left, he is 14th, two places behind Williams team-mate Felipe Massa.

It looks like some engine issues mean that is the end of Pierre Gasly's afternoon. Not been the best of days for Toro Rosso, although Brendon Hartley, in only his second weekend of racing with the team, is a creditable 13th.

Who is your favourite Formula 1 driver of all time and why?

Joseph A. Simmons: Lewis Hamilton his ability to elevate his performance in qualifying and accept the challenge of bringing drama in a race. Plus his charisma to bring a new a rainbow of people to F1.

Robert Boyd‏: First is Coultard but Button is a close second with Hamilton third all day long.

South AfriKOPITE: Alain Prost. Hands down. Generation before Ferrari screwed F1 up by telling Ruebens to allow Schumie through. Not watched since. Its a race.

These are the standings so far. Romain Grosjean will not be seen again today after his puncture.

Pierre Gasly, back in for Toro Rosso for the dropped Daniil Kvyat, is 19th fastest or second slowest, however you want it.

Kvyat looks to be heading out of Formula 1 now, despite picking up a point last week in Austin, but Toro Rosso will want more from his replacement.

It's only Friday but it bodes well and again it's not a huge surprise because Red Bull and Ferrari have more down-force than Mercedes do, which is what you need on this track.

Who is your favourite Formula 1 driver of all time and why?

Ross McIntyre: Rubens Barrichello for me on his day was quicker than Schumacher an absolute gentleman throughout his entire career and liked by all.

Alejandra: The one and only Ayrton Senna. He is the last true driver

The Duke: Mansell for me. No silver spoon. He was a true Journeyman into F1. Deserved his drive at Williams. Won through dogged determination.
