We have an hour left and this is a rather unfamiliar looking top 10. Lewis Hamilton, after his earlier spin, is yet to set a lap time.
Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo quickest in second practice
Lewis Hamilton second, Max Verstappen third & Sebastian Vettel fourth
Valtteri Bottas fastest in first practice at Mexico City track
Hamilton could secure title on Sunday - needs to finish fifth
Saturday: Third practice 15:55-17:05; Qualifying 18:55-20:05

Who is your favourite Formula 1 driver of all time and why?
Blessing Sibanda: Hamilton because of his racing style (if the car is reliable), those overtakes at McLaren. In future it maybe Max if he checks his language.
Clunkclick: Mark Webber should have been a world champ. Tough as old boots and will drink anything out of anything.
David Bear Wyke: Obviously Senna, but Max could be up there if we ever get more wheel-to-wheel racing.
The Mercedes mechanics are seeing if there is any damage done to the car following Lewis Hamilton's spin.

It looks like the fire extinguisher has gone off in Sebastian Vettel's car, leaving a white mark on the back of his racing suit.
Vettel, by the way, is completely fine.

Incredible team radio from Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel, who says: "Something burst, something burst, there is some acid in my seat, think it might be the extinguisher I'm not sure."

I don't want to tempt fate but I wonder if we are beginning to see one of those weekends where Hamilton just doesn't get it together.
Earlier in the season he was struggling on low-grip tracks and was over-committing to the corners and making lots of mistakes.
It looked like Lewis had got over that but we'll have to see.

It's probably the flattest race tracks of the year and also the hardest because of the altitude - your lungs are burning before you get to the first turn.
And that also affects the cars - you need to keep the parts cool. It's an extraordinary place in terms of the engineering challenges.
Turn 11 and Hamilton is facing the wrong way after a worrying spin.
Remember, he only needs to finish fifth on Sunday to win the world title.
Luckily for him, he does not hit anything and is able to pull off into the pits.

We are good to go, but it is only seconds later when Stoffel Vandoorne's car grinds to a halt. His mechanics sprint to collect him and, not for the first time this season, they are having to push a McLaren back into the garage.
The McLarens are set to be at the back with Alonso having a 20-place grid penalty and Vandoorne a 35-place grid penalty. It is going to be a long, long, long weekend for McLaren.
Only seven drivers have set a timed lap, with Kevin Magnussen the quickest so far, but no Mercedes, Ferrari or Red Bull cars have completed a timed lap yet.
Debris cleared from that Grosjean puncture and we are good to go.
Who is your favourite Formula 1 driver of all time and why?
Dinesh Pawar: Hands down Kimi Raikkonen, because - "buah, leave me alone, I know what I'm doing!"
Nick Croshaw: Arturo Merzario on his day unbeatable in sports cars, unlucky with F1 - right team, wrong time - Ferrari 72/73, Williams 74/76.
Kevin Regan: Michael Schumacher. Not only because of what he achieved in the car, but the way he was able to hustle it - always on the limit. #bbcf1, external
BBC Radio 5 live sports extra
Esteban Ocon and Sergio Perez have had a few challenging moments this season and once again during last week's race it looked like they would drive each other off the track.
Well, apparently, no more. The team have had enough.
Force India's Otmar Szafnauer tells Radio 5 live sports extra: "Our drivers are not free to race. We are not going to risk them crashing into each other. There are 19 other racers out there they can race.
"We always thought Esteban Ocon would be good. He's developing and getting better and better. The way he held Carlos Sainz off last week with a damaged car, I was impressed by that.
"We didn't start the season in as strong a position as I'd have hoped but we developed as the year went on and that has been really pleasing."
We had only been going for five minutes and now we have a red flag. We see pictures of Grosjean's puncture and it is quite spectacular with it bursting off into many, many pieces.
Grosjean had problems last week in Austin as well as he ended up beached in the gravel during one session. Haas are eighth in the constructors championship and Grosjean has only had points finishes in three of his last eight races.
It is going to take a bit of time to recover all the debris off the track.

Just a reminder, Valtteri Bottas' time that was fastest in session one was 1:17.824 earlier on.
Stoffel Vandoorne quickly heads back to the pits, with Kevin Magnussen the first to complete a timed lap of 1:21.669.
His Haas team-mate Romain Grosjean spins at about 150mph and is left with a puncture for his troubles. Straight back in for him.
"I've got a puncture, rear left. Something is just not quite right," he says.
McLaren's Stoffel Vandoorne is straight out, but Mercedes, the Constructors Champions, are a bit more relaxed about everything.

Stoffel Vandoorne only completed three laps this morning, with no timed laps. No messing around from him and McLaren now. He is out within seconds of the start of the session. He is the only one out early doors.

We didn't see the true pace of the cars in the first session. There was so much dust and dirt due to pollution on this track.
As the cars were winding their way around you could see the wheels clearing the dust away. I think this session will be a lot more meaningful.
No excuses for the drivers. Perfect conditions.

Who is your favourite Formula 1 driver of all time and why?
Kathy Hopper: Has to be James Hunt. The first driver I was really aware of. Also because he always seemed to be having a great time!
Dean Etchells: Senna, I was at the European gp at Donnington in 1993. Lapped the field in the wet. Utter genius.
Felipe Portes: Damon Hill for sure! My first idol after the Senna Years.
Good news for Stoffel Vandoorne. We didn't see him earlier on, but the McLaren mechanics have been beavering away and he will be good to go at the start of this session, apparently.
