That rain will affect grip levels and cut-off times so if it does rain harder you've got to make the most of the dry track whilst it's still there.

"Very light drizzle in the air," says Sebastian Vettel. "It's not a problem."

Shielding himself from the rain is Lewis Hamilton, who makes his way to the media pen with his hood up. A smile on his face as he listens to the first question he is asked.

We should have his thoughts on the incident soon.

Very disappointing for Lance Stroll. After excellent work by Williams to get him out on the track he ended up more than a second slower than his team-mate Felipe Massa.

Simon Baker: Well, one thing's for sure, Hamilton's crash in qualifying at #BrazilGP, external has made tomorrow more interesting already

Graham Dobson: Unlucky Lewis, look forward to a charge from back of the grid.

Dan Parkin: All eyes on Bottas? I cannot contain the excitement. If it stays dry he has no excuses for not getting pole in that car

Brendon Hartley is the stand-out there. He's been here before so he knows his way around this track but he had limited mileage coming in so I've been impressed.

Massa was very clean there. You could see the car was nailed to the ground but a very clean lap.

Wow! Great lap by Felipe Massa. The Brazilian does a 1:09.789 to leap up to fourth. The crowd will be loving that.

I think Kimi is safe on this time, Max Verstappen might need to be careful.

Everyone talks about Raikkonen being the ice-man. His driver talk suggests otherwise- he always sounds snappy.

  18. Postpublished at 16:22 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

Kimi Raikkonen plays by his own rules.

His race engineer has just been on the radio to say: "We are safe Kimi, we are just concerned about nine minutes left in the session. We wouldn't want to have to go out again. I would go lap mode push.

The Finn snaps back: "What do you mean? I'm boxing this lap."

"OK, box Kimi! Box," is a rather exasperated reply.

  19. Postpublished at 16:20 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

Kudos to Williams for getting Lance Stroll out on the track but will he progress to Q2? He's currently in the dangerzone.
