Romain Grosjean is the man in 15th. Everyone needs to be sure to be quicker than in practice to guarantee passage into the next segment of qualification.

Max Verstappen isn't happy, reporting something "definitely not right" with his engine. He has just gone fourth quickest, though, with 1:09.820.

A few changes at the top of the order now but Sebastian Vettel currently occupies top spot after a 1:09.796. He's on the soft tyre.

Commentator's curse ey? No one was expecting that. It will be interesting to see how Bottas reacts. It's a great opportunity for him to get a win under his belt.

Rachel T: Watch Lewis Hamilton fight back through the grid at Interlagos? Yes please.

Just Mick: Hamilton on a charge from the back with nothing to lose. Good for the race spectacle tomorrow.

Manish Pandey: Super rare mistake from Lewis. All the best make them. Shows they are pushing. Tomorrow is another day.

Mini fist pumps all round at Williams as that crash provided the team with more time to put Lance Stroll's car together in time. Stroll is in the cockpit and ready to go. Sixteen minutes on the clock.

Unnecessary for him to push there. At a corner where you don't usually see crashes. Although he did clout the barriers it shouldn't have done much damage to the track.

This is the first time he's been out in Q1 since Belgium 2016. 27 races ago.

The back-end skidded. Can you imagine if that had happened in Mexico City. What a shock.

So, I would have expressed surprise, even shock, at Hamilton crashing on his first lap. But thanks to the useless wifi in the media centre the moment has now passed. Anyway, he did.

A relief for Lewis Hamilton that this happened after he had wrapped up the title because what a disaster if it had been in Mexico.

The Briton lost the rear of his Mercedes through Turn 6 and was simply a passenger as he slid off the track and into the wall.

He's out of the car now as the crane comes in to remove the car.

Extraordinary scenes. He was maybe being quite aggressive on that short lap. He’s now going to be sat at the back of the grid! I think it was a driver error but we’ll see shortly what happened.

  17. HAMILTON OUT OF QUALIFYINGpublished at 16:03 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

    WOW!

Lewis Hamilton spins off the track on his first fast lap and crashes into the barrier.

He's OK, but his car's not.

  18. Go! Go! Go!published at 16:00 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

The first part of qualifying is under way. The track is dry so everyone is out on slicks.

Abhay Jain: They should gave a chance to Daniil Kvyat..some bad races doesn't mean he is not a good driver..and dropped out from Red Bull also lacks down his confidence..one year contract is good

Panzer Jager: Robert Kubica is the best 2018 option for Williams!!

Delignieres Jerome: I would see what Kubica can do with this Formula 1. If it's not him, why not Kvyat ? He deserve another luck after being destroyed by Red Bull and Marko
