That was a sensational race. Absolutely amazing. Hope you enjoyed that.

And that is where we are going to leave it for today.

Lewis Hamilton wins it after a dramatic puncture for leader Valtteri Bottas late on as Sebastian Vettel comes fourth and loses his lead in the drivers' championship.

The Red Bull pair smash into each other, Sauber finish in the top six and Sergio Perez gets his second podium finish in three years here.

Thank you for all your comments and for joining us. Until next time, goodbye.

Lewis Hamilton was handed victory in a madcap finish to a chaotic, incident-strewn Azerbaijan Grand Prix in which both Red Bulls sensationally collided with each other.

Hamilton's team-mate Valtteri Bottas was on course to win after Mercedes took advantage of a late safety car to jump long-time leader Sebastian Vettel's Ferrari.

But after Vettel had thrown away second place with a mistake at the restart, Bottas suffered a puncture on the next lap.

His two rivals out of the way, Hamilton was given victory and the championship lead on a plate after looking set to finish third.

It looks as if no action will be taken against Sergio Perez, so he will get to keep his podium finish, his first top-three result since being third in Baku for the European Grand Prix in 2016.

A Follower: I think the biggest takeaway from this weekend is that Ferrari have a faster car at the moment but Hamilton leads the championship. They need to convert that into wins because Mercedes will sort out their issues and it will become harder for Ferrari.

  7. 'Sorry for the team'published at 16:26 British Summer Time 29 April 2018

Romain Grosjean banged into a wall under the safety car. He was understandably a bit annoyed. He said: "I feel sorry for the team, they were doing a great race. I was warming my tyres, I bumped into a switch, when I touched the brakes the rear wheels locked and I spun. It is hard when you lose that many points."

  8. 'Pretty happy'published at 16:23 British Summer Time 29 April 2018

Williams' Lance Stroll came eighth. He tells Sky Sports: "I'm pretty happy with the race and happy with eighth. It is a good race for the team."

  9. 'Quite scary'published at 16:20 British Summer Time 29 April 2018

Renault's Carlos Sainz, who finished fifth, his best race of the season, told Sky Sports: "We were aggressive then we were P10 so had to do it again so P5 is good. I don't think we could have done much better.

"A crazy race, great fun, but quite scary and it shows how difficult it was out there."

  10. 'A great reward'published at 16:13 British Summer Time 29 April 2018

Even a first lap double puncture for Fernando Alonso, caused by what he called a "stupid" Sergey Sirotkin was not enough to deny the Spaniard a seventh-placed finish for the third successive race.

"The car was heavily damaged," Alonso told Sky Sports. "Two flat tyres had damaged the whole floor but even with that it was competitive. To finish seventh is a great reward after the first lap incident."

  11. 'It felt like a win'published at 16:08 British Summer Time 29 April 2018

Charles Leclerc, who came sixth, Sauber's best result in 50 races, says: "It felt like a win, I'm on a cloud now, it has been an amazing race.

"We took the right opportunity at the right point. The pace was amazing, we were not as quick as Ferrari but we were not a second off. I'm over the moon.

"We know this result in normal conditions is very difficult to get but I knew I had to be there when the opportunity was given to us."

  12. 'They are both in the doghouse'published at 16:03 British Summer Time 29 April 2018

Red Bull team boss Christian Horner on the collision between team-mates Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo: "They both recognise that they screwed up today and will be apologising to the team and to all members of the team. We allow them to race and allow them to go wheel-to-wheel. We spoke to them in team meetings about giving each other space, this was the culmination of two guys talking things into their own hands, which shouldn't have happened.

"There were probably three incidents between them through the race. They touched wheels and were told to calm it down, we don't want to interfere with them going wheel-to-wheel. We are not apportioning blame one way or the other, they are both to blame for this.

"Our intention is to continue to let them race but they have to show respect and give space. They have been reminded that they are part of a team, they are highly paid indivudals with the team's interest at heart. The message was delivered very clearly.

"They are both in the doghouse. They will apologise to all of the staff before Barcelona."

  13. 'It means a lot to me personally'published at 15:59 British Summer Time 29 April 2018

Force India's Sergio Perez, speaking to Sky Sports: "The last two laps were unbelievable for me. They were the two best laps of my career.

"This means a lot personally and for the history of Mexico. I get to be the most successful driver in Formula 1 from Mexico. It means a lot to me and my family. This podium gives us a lot of boost. We won't be fighting in the next races for a lot of podiums but in that midfield group we will be closer."

  14. 'I was in disbelief'published at 15:56 British Summer Time 29 April 2018

Lewis Hamilton wins a thrilling Azerbaijan Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton, speaking to Sky Sports, said: "I never give up. It has been a while since I've been reminded of that lesson my dad taught me years ago. Today was a realisation of just how true that mindset needs to be.

"Very much mixed emotions, one is grateful of the opportunity to win a grand prix and two that I didn't drive like I wanted to drive. I have got some work to do, but I can go home on a high note.

"I was coming round the last corner in disbelief of the position I was in. It was very emotional for me. I have been in the lead here before and something happened. This is a track where luck is needed, there are a lot of safety cars and a lot of incidents."

  15. 'Not a nice situation'published at 15:51 British Summer Time 29 April 2018

Daniel Ricciardo, speaking to Sky Sports: "My feelings are pretty down, I guess, for the situation.

"We are thankful we are allowed to race, myself and Max love to race as we show. We did get close a few times, sometimes we are on the limit and unfortunately it ended like it did. It is not a nice situation and we both feel bad.

"As far as the incident itself, it is a tough one. I thought the gap was opening on the outside and once I'd come out I had to commit."

You and Max OK?: "Yeah. We are not into each right now, it is more about saying sorry to the team and apologise the best we can. We don't want to be in that situation."

  16. 'You have to try'published at 15:47 British Summer Time 29 April 2018

Sebastian Vettel, who finished fourth after leading the race, tells Sky Sports: "I am happy I tried the move (to overtake Valtteri Bottas, which saw Vettel go off the track and drop down to fourth), I am not happy it didn't work. You have to try. It's how it goes sometimes."

  17. The bottom 10 in the standingspublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 29 April 2018

This table is going to be a sickener for Romain Grosjean. He is one of only two men to have failed to score a point in 2018, with Williams newcomer Sergey Sirotkin being the other.

Grosjean was sixth, on course for eight points, when he crashed into the wall under safety car conditions.
