Lap 7/51
Lewis Hamilton was not happy with Sebastian Vettel's antics at the restart.
"He was start-stopping! That's dangerous," he says.
Lap 7/51
Max Verstappen had gone wide and loses fourth to Carlos Sainz, but it is not long before Verstappen sorts that out, retaking fourth from Sainz.
Well that's been a chaotic first few laps. Here's a quick recap.
Lap 6/51
Sebastian Vettel now three seconds clear of Lewis Hamilton
Lap 5/51
Daniel Ricciardo fends off a move from Max Verstappen, but not for long and the Dutchman jumps up to fourth.
Carlos Sainz also takes advantage and leaps in front of the Australian, who is the big loser from that restart. Was fourth, now sixth.
Lewis Hamilton is weaving just behind Sebastian Vettel, a queue of cars lined up behind them. More carnage coming?
Lap 5/51

That's why we are still under the safety car. The marshals are scampering on the track to pick up the bits of debris. I wouldn't fancy being a marshal on race day.
Lap 5/51
Sebastian Vettel reports some debris at Turn 3, asking for some marshals to pick it up.

Harvey: Just a thought but why not choose a circuit that 2 cars can fit around?!
Keith Murphy: Will Vettel brake test Hamilton on the restart.
Keith! What have you suggested!
Lap 4/51
It has not been the start to Sergey Sirotkin's Formula 1 career that he would have been dreaming of. Two retirements (here and Australia) and two 15th-placed finishes (Bahrain and China).
Robert Kubica's thoughts?
McLaren race engineer: OK, Fernando, we see some damage to the floor.
Fernando Alonso: "Unbelievable. You take corner one, corner two carefully then they crash into you. Stupid."

Marc Sepetowksi: Alonso has done brilliantly to nurse that car back to the pits in the state it was in. If he manages to finish in the points, which is very possible given there will be more safety cars, then this will be one of the great alonso drives!
Lap 3/51
One lap gone, two drivers out, three more in jeopardy.
We said it would be carnage. It is and we are still under safety car conditions.

Lap 2/51
Front wing damage for Sergio Perez as well, from that Sergey Sirotkin incident. The Williams went into the back of the Force India man.
Lap 2/51
Out - Sergey Sirotkin and Esteban Ocon.
In trouble - Fernando Alonso and Kevin Magnussen (both in the pits fixing punctures).
Lap 1/51
Fernando Alonso, speaking about Sergey Sirotkin after they made contact: "What a stupid guy. He closed the door, we were side-by-side."

Fernando Alonso has no tyres on the right side of his car! He can't control it on the way back. He must have too much damage, surely.
