Lewis Hamilton is on mediums so he shouldn't in theory improve because he is on the slower tyre.

There will be a bit of debrief about that Red Bull crash but we have seen so many drivers go off. Ricciardo is not alone in going off, he is just alone in finding a barrier.

He climbs out of the Red Bull as a throng of spectators rush over to the nearby trackside fence with their camera phones for a closer look.

Mercedes are getting on top of the conditions as they storm to the top of the order, Valtteri Bottas going quickest with 1:18.695 while Lewis Hamilton goes P2 after a 1:18.997.
