It has already been a memorable week for Charles Leclerc as on Tuesday he got to meet some royalty.

A home grand prix is always special for a driver and Charles Leclerc has that honour, and the pressure that comes with it, this weekend.
The highly rated Sauber driver had a shaky start to his F1 career but has increasingly impressed, with points finishes in the last two races. Much is expected of Leclerc, a member of the Ferrari driver academy, but he said: “I don’t put myself extra pressure. It more becomes motivation of doing well at home.
Last year it has been a very special one for me, it was my first ever grand prix in F2 and now it is the first in F1, and I just can’t wait. It is a way to show the sacrifices I’ve done in the past have been useful. It is all about staying in F1 but at least I’ve made it. I hope the teachers will be watching closely because I know they were angry at me when I was missing school back in the day so hopefully now they understand why.”
He looked insouciance personified as I followed him into the track this morning, him on his electric bike, complete with brake lights, me in a hire car. Monaco is a track where talent shines through. Can he live up to the high expectations he has on him as one of the brightest potential stars of the future?
Former world champion Nico Rosberg has won here three times - in 2013, 2014 and 2015 - but has a much relaxed weekend to look forward to now.
We were expecting it to be a good weekend for Red Bull and there is some early encouragement for them.
Max Verstappen regains his position as top dog in Monaco with a lap of 1:12.366, 0.134 seconds quicker than Lewis Hamilton.
Daniel Ricciardo is third with the Ferraris of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen fourth and fifth respectively.
Championship leader Lewis Hamilton has won the last two races and just set the quickest time of the day with a lap of 1:12.480 on the hypersofts.

The best times so far...
It is a bad day so far for Fernando Alonso. He is the slowest of the 20 men out there and his car is back in the garage and maybe not coming back out in this session.
Sergey Sirotkin's car is also been checked out in the Williams garage after going into the wall.

It has not been a great start to the season for Romain Grosjean, who does not have a point to his name this season.
He also has a three-place grid penalty for this race and has just grazed the wall. Tough times for the Haas man.

We are 25 minutes into the opening practice session and it is a good day so far for Red Bull with Max Verstappen the quickest out there with a 1:13.255, four tenths faster than team-mate Daniel Ricciardo in second.

A relaxed start to the Monaco GP weekend.
Apologies for some technical problems. Right, where were we...

It’s a picture-perfect day in Monaco as the sixth round of the Formula 1 season gets under way. A Monaco Grand Prix, as Fernando Alonso said on Wednesday, always comes burdened with expectations, but does not always deliver. Can Red Bull close the gap on the front two teams, as they hope?
Can Alonso himself bridge some of the margin to the top six in the McLaren, which has always gone comparatively better than usual around here even in troubled recent times? Can Romain Grosjean resist the temptation to stick his Haas in the wall?
Will Lewis Hamilton underline his superlative natural talent with blistering laps, miles clear of his rivals, in the opening stages of the session? All this and more will slowly be revealed over the coming days.
Welcome along.
I'm Michael Emons and I will be guiding you through all the action today. Sadly there is no yacht for me though.
We will also have live commentary on this page as well with the first practice session getting going at 10:00 BST and the second at 14:00 BST.
It is all about the glitz and glamour.
The Formula 1 circus has arrived in Monaco, and what a circus this is.
Yachts, beautiful scenery, racing around the marina, a fantastic street circuit.
It is one of the most eagerly anticipated weekends of the Formula 1 season. Not hard to see why.
