Quite a few people on the old social media asking what Jennie Gow meant at 19:05 when she referred to Romain Grosjean's car not looking too bad at the rear "but that's the naked guy".

I've just double checked with my team, and it was a typo by the person who typed it in. It should have read "but that's by the naked eye". I've re-edited the post.

I know, I know. Formula 1 would be a lot more popular if there was gratuitous nudity. But there we are.

Anyway, as consolation, here's a streaker at a Silverstone event from 1998.

  5. Postpublished at 19:22 British Summer Time 9 June 2018

Grosjean goes out after succumbing to groundhog's revenge when he was barely out of the pit lane, Gasly was squeezed out by Alonso, Marcus Ericsson also finished in the bottom five, as did the two Williams drivers Lance Stroll and Sergey Sirotkin. What a rotten season Williams are having.

Top six are the usual suspects: Vettel, Raikkonen, Hamilton, Bottas, Verstappen, Ricciardo. Ferrari one-two, Mercedes three-four, Red Bull five-six.

Fernando Alonso still in the bottom five as we enter the final minute of Q1. No way to mark his 300th grand prix entry, that.

Daniel Eckersley: Massive problem for the Haas car. It has Romain Grosjean in it.

  10. Don't worry, Geripublished at 19:14 British Summer Time 9 June 2018

In fairness to Horner, he may not have been criticising Ericsson's driving. Or the former Geri Halliwell's, for that matter. The front of Ericsson's car has his name and number '9 ERI' on the front. As you were...

Vettel and Raikonnen still hold first and second for Ferrari.

"Looks like my wife's driving that car," says Red Bull team principal Christian Horner on Sky as Sauber's Marcus Ericsson clips the wall. Sure Geri will be delighted to hear that, Christian...

  12. Postpublished at 19:09 British Summer Time 9 June 2018

Sebastian Vettel now goes quickest, above Raikkonen, on his fifth lap. Daniel Ricciardo's attempts to challenge him in the Red Bull is thwarted by a touch of traffic, and he almost goes into the wall at one point.

  13. Postpublished at 19:07 British Summer Time 9 June 2018

Lewis Hamilton comes out for his first lap with 11 minutes of Q1 to go. Kimi Raikkonen is fastest, Sebastian Vettel second. So far, so good for Ferrari.

Chris Marsh has got back in touch to explain how he has been tempted away from qualifying by his wife (see 18:49)

"Curry, film and feminine wiles distracted me. Don't worry about the race though, I've arranged for her to go out for a girls night."

Loving the fact that his original post has almost split you exactly in half in terms of likes and dislikes. You're a tough crowd, but I like you...

They are just starting to push the car back into the garage. I'm just trying to see how much damage has been done and I'll tell you what, it doesn't look too bad at the rear but that's naked eye. They'll get a proper look when they take the back off, but I've never seen that before.

Grosjean is out of the car, and it looks as if his qualifying is over. Dreadful luck.
