  2. 'We think this makes Hamilton stronger'published at 17:39 British Summer Time 24 June 2018

Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff is a happy man after Lewis Hamilton's win: "It feels really good, after some times struggling, with a faultless weekend from the car and Lewis. The engine is the result of so many people working together."

On Hamilton: "I think like any human being, you have off days and good days. The problem with a racing driver is that you see that. We think this makes him stronger in the long term."

  3. How they standpublished at 17:38 British Summer Time 24 June 2018

Lewis Hamilton's win restores the 14-point lead over Sebastian Vettel that he lost in Canada. Valtteri Bottas drops a place in the championship standings, as he could only take seventh after being hit by Sebastian Vettel on the opening lap.

Eight races down, 13 to go - and a lot of points still to fight for.

  4. 'Formula 1 is great'published at 17:35 British Summer Time 24 June 2018

Haas' Kevin Magnussen came sixth. He tells Sky Sports: "A good race, good car, we got everything right.

"We heard a lot of criticism of the track that we wouldn't see any overtaking. People should stop complaining, you are going to have some poor races but Formula 1 is great."

  5. 'We were a wounded car'published at 17:32 British Summer Time 24 June 2018

Daniel Ricciardo, fourth in the Red Bull, was struggling with front wing damage as he lost out on a podium to Kimi Raikkonen.

Ricciardo tells Sky Sports: "We had a pretty good pace, we were catching Max and then when I pitted. The boys said the front end of the wing was damaged on the left.

"It happened two laps before the bit stop. So then we were struggling when we left the pits. Then the right part broke. We had a lot less downforce and understeering. We were a wounded car from just before the first pit stop."

  6. 'Good haul of points'published at 17:28 British Summer Time 24 June 2018

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner tells Sky Sports: "Another clean weekend, we avoided the chaos from the first corner. It is a shame for Daniel, the front wing at about lap 20, some debry hit it.

"It is a good haul of points for the team, would have been nice to have both drivers on the podium."

  7. Postpublished at 17:28 British Summer Time 24 June 2018

Red Bull second and fourth today, with Max Verstappen having another fine weekend to build on his good work in Canada, but Daniel Ricciardo missing out on a podium spot after encountering front wing problems. Let's get some reaction from the team...

  8. get involved

William Lloyd: By this point in the season what excuses does Romain Grosjean have for scoring no points while his team mate is on 27? Any decent performance and Haas should be chatting up fourth place in the constructors.

Jeroen Demmendaal‏: Three podium finishes in four races and all ahead of Ricciardo. Max is back on track again - good stuff.

  9. Bottas gets fastest lappublished at 17:22 British Summer Time 24 June 2018

Bottas, despite all his problems, did record the fastest lap of the race - 1:34.225 on Lap 41.

  10. 'He went wide and hit me'published at 17:17 British Summer Time 24 June 2018

Let's hear Valtteri Bottas' thoughts on that opening-lap crash.

He tells Sky Sports: "We were going side-by-side I went for the outside, left enough room for him, but he went wide and hit me. I got a puncture and damage to the floor, which compromised the race.

"The pit stop, just took a lot of time, there was a problem with one of the rear tyres. That may have cost us one place with Kevin (Magnussen)."

  11. 'Vettel destroyed the race for himself and Bottas'published at 17:14 British Summer Time 24 June 2018

Mercedes non-executive director Niki Lauda, a three-time Formula One champion, does not mince his words on the Vettel-Bottas incident.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Lauda says: "Why Vettel gets only five seconds for this enormous mistake, I don't understand. It's too little. Five seconds is nothing. He destroyed the whole race for himself and for Bottas.

"Lewis Hamilton was sometimes pushing and he had the race under control. It was the right result, but it would have been good had Bottas been there too."

  12. 'My mistake'published at 17:12 British Summer Time 24 June 2018

So what is Sebastian Vettel's view? He knows he was in the wrong, I would suggest - here's what he had to say.

"My start was too good and I ended up with nowhere to go," he says. "It is my mistake.

"I tried to brake early and had no room. Valtteri tried to get his position back which is fair enough but I had nowhere to go. I tried to slow down but with that little grip that meant I had contact with Valtteri.

"We had good pace obviously I tried to hammer thorough the field and damaged the tyres. We had decent pace to go at least with Mercedes."

  13. 'It was a misjudgement from Sebastian'published at 17:07 British Summer Time 24 June 2018

Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff has given his thoughts on the first-lap collision between Sebastian Vettel and Valtteri Bottas to Sky Sports: "Sebastian has a very good start and Valtteri is quicker on the outside.

"It was a misjudgement from Sebastian because it ruined his race as well. The floor was completely shot in Valtteri's car."

  14. 'Crazy'published at 17:00 British Summer Time 24 June 2018

Lewis Hamilton watching the clip of Sebastian Vettel hitting Valtteri Bottas says: "He took him right out, ah man, that's crazy."

Hamilton makes clear that he feels Vettel's five-second penalty is too lenient.

  15. 'A decent recovery'published at 16:59 British Summer Time 24 June 2018

Kimi Raikkonen, who takes his fourth podium of the season by finishing third: "I got a bit blocked with all the mayhem that happened but a decent recovery. At the end we had a lot of speed and managed to get on the podium."

  16. 'Hamilton was controlling the pace'published at 16:57 British Summer Time 24 June 2018

Max Verstappen's second place is his best finish of the season: "It was good. I tried to follow Lewis. He was controlling the pace. I didn't have to work very hard for it but it's good to be in the podium."

On the opening lap shenanigans: "At the start, everybody was trying to go to get a position and everybody can make mistakes."

"This is a great day. I enjoyed the race. The weather has been good and good to see so many people here."

On regaining the championship lead: "I hadn't thought about it, but that is where I want to be."
