This was a massive crash, but thankfully Marcus Ericsson walked away unscathed.
Listen to the moment it happened below.

Lap 42/52
Sebastian Vettel moves on Valtteri Bottas for the lead - but the Mercedes man closes the door!
Lap 42/52
Safety car comes in - Valtteri Bottas gets away well. Kimi raikkonen runs wide and is under pressure for fifth place now from Daniel Ricciardo...
Carlos Sainz: "I was in front of him, he understeered into me for sure."
For balance, I will point out that Romain Grosjean's account on his team radio is a little different. Anyone who has ever tried to make a claim for a motoring accident will be familiar with these differences of opinion...

I don't think Grosjean particularly was the guilty party here. I think it was a racing incident. Grosjean had such a small amount of room to play with.
Lap 40/52
The stewards tell us that the collision between Sainz and Grosjean, which happened at Copse Corner, will be investigated after the race. The safety car is still out there.
Kayleigh: Fantastic racing from Kimi and Max!
Dennis Ethan: This is exhilarating.
Andrew Priestley: Great to watch a GP on a track were overtaking is actually possible.
Lap 39/52
Carlos Sainz tried to go wide, and Grosjean just clipped the side of the Renault man from the rear. Oversteer from Grosjean there. Sainz could have been flipped over there - it could have been very nasty. Both drivers are OK.

Wow! So aggressive and committed from Max Verstappen.
Lap 39/52
Oh no! Carlos Sainz goes into the barriers - and so does Romain Grosjean. Another safety car!
Lap 38/52
Valtteri Bottas slows right down - then floors it. He stays clear of Sebastian Vettel.
Kimi Raikkonen forces his way past Max Verstappen... but here comes Verstappen, going right to the limit, and he's back into fourth! Sensational from the Dutchman!
Lewis Hamilton is really worried about his rivals being on fresh tyres, even though his team isn't. "These guys with the fresh tyres, very hard to get past," he says.
Lap 37/52
Safety car is coming in now. Jennie Gow, in the pit lane for BBC Radio 5 live, points out that Mercedes do not have any fresh sets of soft tyres to use - unlike Red Bull and Ferrari. Could that have been the factor in their decision not to pit during the safety car period.
Sebastian Vettel: Tell the safety car to slow down!

Hamilton's tyres aren't that old. It has put him on the defensive but maybe he has enough pace to stay clear of Max Verstappen.
Lap 36/52
Safety car is still being deployed. Lapped cars can now overtake, the message comes through - that's the two Williams drivers, Sergey Sirotkin and Lance Stroll. Canadian Stroll was causing problems for several drivers earlier by not getting out of the way when they tried to lap him. Those drivers are unlikely to be thrilled at the prospect of having to lap him again.
Shaun Bristow: For the third time this year Mercedes haven't pitted under the safety car. This could well be another disastrous decision
Jeremiah Kariuki: Both Mercedes decided to stay out. Another strategy mess? Let's wait and see.
Lap 35/52
Lewis Hamilton: "There is no way I will be able to compete with the new tyres."
Race engineer: "Lewis, you are the fastest guy out there so don't give up."
