What a fascinating dynamic we have now! There are 18 laps to go, Verstappen and Raikkonen both pitted so that's put Hamilton up to third position.

There is a lot of movement in the pit lane. Ferrari coming out with soft tyres, Mercedes also coming out with soft tyres. Vettel is first in...

Huge, huge accident. That is the fastest corner on the circuit. The safety car works horribly for Daniel Ricciardo because he had just pitted.

Thank goodness - Marcus Ericsson is OK. He's climbing out of the car after that crash at Abbey Corner, to big cheers from the Silverstone criwd.

And we've got the safety car out. Tactics time, everybody...

Why are they bringing Daniel Ricciardo in? That is the question. Is this Red Bull throwing a gamble? A bit of a strategy call?

Hamilton got himself from 18th to second before he came in to the pits after that early spin and now drops back down to sixth with Sebastian Vettel first and Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas second. Still, what a drive it has been from Hamilton since that early problem.

Something funny going on with that Hamilton stop. Mercedes brought the tyres out, they were all ready to go but Hamilton did not come in so they had to all go back in but they come out now for Hamilton, he is coming in now.

What was going on with him not coming in when they first asked him to? Those tyres will not be at perfection.
